P.S I am going to the Rutgers vs Ohio State game this year and we decided not to get a parking pass this year since last year we had to wait in traffic anyway. What is the best way of getting out of there these days? Do they still have the buses in the park that will take you from the stadium back to College Avenue?
Also, is there any other method that is better than parking near College Avenue and then taking the bus to the stadium for the game and then taking the bus back to College Avenue after the game? I actually prefer this method as I am still young and enjoy being with all the crazies on the buses and getting chants going and all that, but I will be with some other people who I am not sure would be able to handle that environment as well as I can lol.
Look for free street parking near bucceluch park and walk across the bridge if you aren't tailgating.
I also park for free on the street in the Bronx for yankee games though. I guess I have issues.
Pay the $20 to park at hte CA parking deck, take the bus over and then hitch in on a tailgate for someone in the closer in lots.I didn't say I was upset that I got bumped there , that's the way it is . I understand . I didn't donate enough to get in a better lot But that Rutgers charges $30 for a crap lot and actually sells passes to this place is ridiculous.
I park for free on Easton Ave. $$$$ I'm not a tailgate guy obviously lol.
How would that work - if too many people pay the minimmum for a lot, but not enough for the next one up.I think that they need to have minimums that guarantee you a spot in a specific lot based on priority points ahead of time. After that allow dynamic pricing to upgrade from your minimum guaranteed lot to a better one.
FYI - parking isn't free in New Brunswick on Saturday's anymore. At least on Easton. They announced that last year and I know of one person who got ticketed. Try a side street.
RU FOOTBALL VISITORS:
For RU Football home games Easton Ave will not allow parkers as per NBPD, additional parking will be available at the Gateway Garage at 7 Wall St.

There's a reason we don't do PSL. It's called taxes. PSL is a taxable form of revenue. Donations for equal (or greater value) is not treated that way and instead is part of the 501(c)(3) Rutgers foundation and therefore tax exempt. Additionally, your PSL purchase is not tax deductible (IRS still working out the rules for those who use the seats for client entertainment, but for the average Joe there is no savings), where a donation is 80% deductible. It's very easy for those who itemize to say:"Donate more".
I say that we should have PSL's to make it equal for everybody.
So when double the amount of people put down the minimum for a lot compared the amount of spaces then what?
You either fill the lots from the worst to best until everyone has a guaranteed space leaving the prime lots empty or nearly empty and people can then pay to upgrade via dynamic pricing or you engineer the cutoffs such that the top X lots are only Y% full, leaving 100 - Y spots available for upgrade in each prime lot. For instance, if you had 100 parking permits requested and 5 lots each with 40 spots available then you would place the highest 20 PP holders in lot 1 and the next 20 in lot 2 and so on. Each lot would be 50% full initially and people could upgrade to a better lot based on a dynamic pricing sale. Furthermore, if would not be difficult to give those with more PPs a sliding credit that they could spend on their upgrade.
Email Julie.A quick criticism of the light blue lot. I counted 6 RU facilities trucks parked in the lot. Two of the trucks were taking up 4 spaces each that's 12 spaces which were taken up by RU trucks, and those were only the ones I saw when I parked next to them. When I arrived at about 11:00 the lot was full and attendants were moving tailgates out of spaces to accommodate people who where parking.
Anyone else have a bee problem? We where closer to the construction site and had several buzzing around all day. They loved our bacon and beer.
not really sure I see a lot of complaints on the cost..more so getting bumped and seeing all the open lots. and the walk just getting too damn long..that's mine. Would still love to see some sort of shuttle to/from the remote lots..or a better process to get the other lots full. I'd certainly pay a bit more to get back up there...just saying there are other options to explore once you get so far away. You guys just want something for nothing. The complainers should just drop parking altogether. I'm sure Johnson Park will increase pricing if demand triples, and the school will still sell out all of the priority lots, just like it does now. If the school stops selling out the lots, they will have to revaluate their system. If they continue selling them out, there is no reason to make them any cheaper.
I have no idea what you are proposing here. There is no way that what I think you are saying is even remotely possible.
So let's make things simple: Assume you have 6 lots (Red, Yellow, Blue, Purple, Black, and RAC), and assume each lot holds 100 cars, except RAC which holds 1000 cars. And assume you have 700 people looking for 700 parking passes. And to really make thing simple, we will assume everyone wants the Red lot first, followed by Yellow, Blue, Purple, Black, and the RAC is least desirable.
Right now Rutgers assigns in priority point order. The 100 people with the most points get the Red lot, the next 100 get Yellow, the next 100 get Blue, the next 100 get Purple, the next 100 get Black, and the remaining 200 get the RAC.
How does your plan work?
I am proposing 2 options.
Option 1 would be to fill from the back forward. Using your example all 700 season ticket holders would be initially assigned to the RAC. You would then run an auction/dynamic pricing sale allowing people to move up lots giving priority or a credit to those with more PPs. Because the pricing is dynamic eventually you reach a point where all the forward lots are 100% filled by those willing to pay for the luxury or completely happy with the lot they are in. Note - The initial parking assignment is simply a place holder assuming that basically everyone wants to move up.
Option 2 would be to partially fill the lots and then run the same auction/dynamic pricing sale. In other words, using your example - Red would be filled with the top 50 PP holders, Yellow with the next 50, Blue with the next 50, Purple with the next 50, Black with the next 50 and the remaining 450 at the RAC. You would then run an auction to let people upgrade lots as in example 1.
Also, the strategy should be simple: if there are 1000 spots in the Scarlet lot, than the 1000 people with the most priority points who requested Scarlet get it. There shouldn't be a "cutoff" for any lots, since it will never work out to be the exact numbers to fill every space.
People have gotten bumped from Blue to yellow to purple to black and almost to silver, since 2005. Donations haven't decreased that much. Capacity? we only expanded the stadium by 9 thousand (44k to 53k), sorry there's not only 9k people in Blue-Black lots. And they've been empty near the stadium. Something fishy.

Been covered on this board plenty of times. If you purchase a seat license you can't claim a charitable deduction. No one wants to comment on PSL's? Are they legal for tax exempt organizations?
However , I would think if you're condemned to the far away lots on Busch the face value of the pass should be less . There is no need to charge $30 for light blue, tan and even silver . $15-20 would be fair .
