Rutgers is not in the Big Ten without Jim Delany. No one associated with the university would debate this statement because nothing happened during his 29 years as the league’s influential commissioner without his stamp of approval.

But but...precendent was set with Nebraska. There was nothing anyone could do for a more a equitable deal.
Well, until literally the next conference expansion (UCLA/USC) when they completely redid the acceptance terms.

Remember, the Big Ten/Delaney threw Rutgers a life raft.
In all their generosity and benevolence, they let meek humble Rutgers in.
It had nothing to do with the upcoming media deal that only was so good because Rutgers (and our location) was involved.
