I remember watching him progress at RU and by the end of his Jr year he was playing at the highest level of any pure cover corner I have seen at the banks. McCourty was a fantastic athlete and made a lot of huge plays for us but just playing the shut down corner and not missing any tackles, Ryan was a beast.

Sadly, while watching Barnwell 2 years ago he reminded me a lot of Ryan when he was younger. Great tackler, big and strong (at college level) and improving every game in coverage. I hope that kid gets a chance somewhere. I have no idea what he did or did not do in that fight plus his grade issue was a mess but he is a fine Football player with a lot of upside if he wants it.

I remember watching him in his first Spring game. He was just a natural. He had great footwork and was just banging away at Harrison who was a lot bigger than him. I said to him after the game "you were really banging with Harrison out there" he replied "you should see me with Sanu." The kid is just a player.

Good stuff. He was a 4 star for those who care and well deserving of that honor.

Logan Ryan actually struggled some against better competition in his junior year. Still remember him getting lit up by Cobi Hamilton at Arkansas, and that tying TD catch he gave up in the bowl vs. VTech. He did do a very good job vs. Denver this year in both of N.E. games vs. the Broncos.

Really liked Logan. As Yeah Baby said, he was a good tackler. Tackled low. It's the way to bring the big guys down.

He never struggled as much as some Rutgers fans made him out to. Too many ESPN fans here. Yes, he got beat on that play. I saw Richard Sherman get smoked by Kenny Britt a few weeks ago. I guess Sherman sucks? I remember thinking how absolutely stupid some fans here were for not seeing how great Ryan was. Everyone gets beat sometimes. Everyone. Learn to watch the DB's on every play and not just the highlights. Ryan was great every year he played here. I was shocked when some of the fans here kept knocking him.
So many fans watch a DB get beat and say, wow that guy sucks, when he may have been blanketing guys all game long and they just were watching where the ball went on those plays. It's just always been a pet peeve of mine.

The best tackle in the Mich win was Barnwell taking on 2 blockers on a wr screen, shedding them, and pile driving Funchess straight backwards right into the turf.

Good player, but I don't feel sorry for him. Had NFL potential and threw it all away. Not sure what annoyed me more, him being a thug, or not being able to pass a gut course a 6th grader could have passed.

No Sherman is good because he never played for RU. LOL.

Still remember Elvis Paterson being called toast all the way to his Super Bowl ring. Tough crowd.
