Kroft had a chance to make a big play but the defender just barely broke it up.

After being a huge Giant fan all my life, RU and CFB have become so more watchable I think I don't know more than 3 NY Giants names anymore. Let's see... Manning, Beckham, and Cruz and Randle. 4 !

I'd rather watch RU v Norfolk St, actually watching Yankees vs Blue Jays now. Pre Season football I won't watch , maybe one quarter when the Giants play the Jets, or whoever signs Ray, then I'll watch a few plays.

I agree with you 1000%. As for the NFL, I spend more time looking for former Rutgers players making plays. Selfishly I wish that Kroft would have stayed one more year.

I'll flip back to the Bengals- Giants during Yankee commercials to watch for Sanu and Kroft , lol

Interesting comments on declining interest in NFL football. I happen to be a diehard Jets fan living in boston for nearly 35 years. I'm lucky to see so many Rutgers guys on the Pats but I too am losing interest in pro football. All the passing and overwhelmed defenses has caused me to lose interest. Whereas college football is much more exciting with spirited and passionate players and fan bases. It's the same thing with college basketball. I love watching the college game and have no interest in NBA basketball. None.

I feel nearly the same way.

Too many rules or technicalities applied to handicap defenses. The game really isn't as enjoyable as it once was. CFB the officiating let the kids play more than anything, maybe some bad calls here and there... but nothing nearly as questionable as what happens in the NFL.

Used to be a huge eagles fan (hence the name). I barely follow NFL anymore. Just can't compare to CFL.

I used to love taking an entire Saturday with 4-5 channels of college football and wanting someone to win each one because of implications to Rutgers or our conference. Too busy to do that now but still

College football has lots of passing and overwhelmed defenses, too.

I'm more into the nfl. It's better football, not as many dumb rules, and it is not set up for 5% of the teams to be elite every year while the rest of the teams basically have no hope. Every single year. NCAA sports would die but for the sense of school pride that keeps fans like us interested every year despite forever being outside the circle.

Imagine a league where some teams play is great stadiums and are on prime time tv very week and get all the media attention every year. Then the teams who win the most get the first 15 draft picks in the next year's draft while most teams do not get to draft at all. They get to sign the undated free agents.

How could a league like that possibly remain interesting to 95% of the fans?
