We are currently ranked 303rd in offensive efficiency scoring an adjusted (for SOS) .955 points per possession. For comparison we are ranked 160th in D (1.018 points allowed per possession).
Breaking it down....
Effective FG% is 46.4% or 282nd (weights 3s 1.5X 2s)
Turnover % is 19.1% or 216th (% of possessions ending in turnovers)
Offensive Rebound % is 27.7% or 247th (when we shoot what % of times we get the rebound)
FTA/FGA is 33.9% or 229th (a stat trying to show how much we go to foul line)
So in the 4 major offensive area kenpom looks at we are pretty bad.
Breaking down the most important one (at least to me) effective FG%
We shoot 2 pointers at 44.2% or 296th
We shoot 3 pointers at 35.2% or 132nd (found something we aren't really bad at)
We are 340th (out of 351) in 3PA/FGA at 25.6%. In other words roughly 1/4 of our shot attempts are 3s. the NCAA average is 35.1%.
Bottom line....i think we need to look for more 3 point shooting opportunities. Sanders does, he often penetrates and finds open guys. We need Daniels and Foreman off penetration and Lewis in the low post to buy in to finding the open guy.
