Lovie is back

From the article

Smith is just 4-23 in Big Ten play, and 2-22 against everyone in the conference not named Rutgers.

Thanks again Ash and Hobbs for making us a national laughingstock.

Maybe next year we keep it close with Illinois, the only other athletic department that can hold a candle to ours in stupidity and Ash gets another extension.

We were headed to a laughingstock before Hobbs and Ash were even hired guess no one remembers 2015 4-8 record (1-7 B1G) and losing to a 2-9 Maryland team @home 46-41 with their 4th string QB and interim head coach Mike Locksley that has a 2-31 career HC record (2-26 with New Mexico wins by 2 pts and 3 pts) and the multiple 20+ pt blowouts before that game to end the season. Or the 30+ scholarships over 3 years(2013-15) that got kicked out, transferred, never made it to campus, etc. that has led to such poor upperclassman this year-- 19 scholarships(10 Sr. 9 Jr., about half make little impact on the field) that Ash didn't bring in.

I’d be shocked if Ash Error can beat both UMASS and Liberty next year.

Wrong.
Ash did nothing to improve the situation after Flood. In fact he made it much more worse than anyone could have imagined.
Laughingstock at monumental portions. How many 70-0 or 56-3 blowouts did Flood have?
Did Flood lose to 2 MAC teams at home in consecutive seasons? Or get blown out to the worst FBS team in the last 6 years- Kansas ?

ASH WAS SUPPOSED TO HELP FIX THAT.. not keep it going down.

I agree he shouldn't continue the trend down but everyone seems to put it on Ash or Flood. It's like the chicken or egg arguement.

Flood took over a much better situation and drove it down, the offense was respectable in his 4 years but Flood in 2012 had a top 10 defense and by 2015 the defense was ranked 100-110 range in pts allowed and yds. That destroying one side of the ball in 3 years

Ash took over a bad roster and offensively has been putrid for 3 years but the defense has been respectable for 3 years despite the offense putting it in bad situations, game after game, year after year.

There is no correct answer. It happened and it's depressing that it happened. 65-75% of the roster are freshman and sophomore 18-19-20-21 vs more successful teams are generally 65-75% of the roster are Juniors and Seniors are 21-22-23.
