This our worst nightmare, he will start recruting in NJ! (maybe for Flood it would have been an issue).. Just kidding

Funny thing is the St.Joes QB from last year, Jack Walsh, is from Waldwick and is a freshman on the Maine football team.

Taking this seriously for a moment, the Maine program going forward is a tough job. With UConn and UMass moving up, URI dropping football and the old Yankee Conference now CAA football, Maine and UNH are basically football outposts. They also had the same coach for more than 20 years, and he had some success, including recent trips to the playoffs, so he has big shoes to fill (relatively speaking). And UMaine is a school that cares more about hockey than football (and basketball is really an afterthought). Throw in the fact it gets dark before 4 p.m. a few months a year and luring kids up there can't be easy. Having ties to New Jersey will help get the cream of the FCS-level crop, and he'll need them.
