Make tush push illegal?

Back in the late 70's- I was in high school and one of my buddies was a huge Rangers fan. I was an Islander fan back then.
Well, one day- he says that he and some of our friends were driving down to Philly to watch the Rangers play. OK- I went along. I am so glad I didn't wear anything remotely hockey related. My buddies went there to purposely antagonize fans. Stood in their seats all game long begging to have shit thrown at them. I stayed as far away as I could.
I haven't been to a baseball or basketball game there but did have the pleasure of being at a football game as an opposing fan. And no way to hide it as we were sitting with the families. Only visiting stadium where the family section was roped off with security. And this was a pre season game.
So what do traditional, hard core football fans want to see then?
1. Normal football plays
2. Eagles to lose
The triple option is hardcore, traditional football but the cry babies wanted it killed just like they want the TP canceled.
There are a dozen other things morphing football into a con job and the TP isn't one of them.
The only take anyone should have on the tush push is that if it is now legal for an offensive player to push a player with the ball forward, then the play is legal and stfu.
Now, if someone is saying that they wish they didnt change the rule in 2005, ok- you are allowed to say so.
The real problem with the TP is momentum of the player. So often, progress is stopped but the play continues.
But, oh well- one team has perfected it and the others have not. How f-ing hard is it to get your team to be able to do the same thing.
I don't like it and consider the tush push more like cheating than being a legal play.
If holding and fumbling forward on purpose is disallowed than the push should be in the same category .
Of course some might say ,with my way of thinking if I was around when it started, I'd be against the forward pass being allowed.

Disagree- if a QB takes a snap and does a sneak under center and other offensive players are allowed to push- it is as legal as a forward pass.
Would you consider OL getting downfield pushing the pile to move a RB/WR forward like cheating as well?
Pushing a general pile is fine. Intentionally pushing the ball carrier is cheating.
I don’t like the play and can’t stand the Eagles but the play itself, isn’t cheating.
Been dealing with Philly fans forever what you call passionate is really classless , vulgar , violent and pompous.
Pulling runners is still illegal in college and the NFL.. but not called anymore for some reason. I think aiding in any way should be illegal.. it can really destroy a lone tackler.. having the weight and force of 3 men or more pushing on them in a coordinated way.
- Rule:
The ball carrier shall not grasp a teammate, and no other teammate shall grasp, pull, or lift the ball carrier to assist in forward progress.
- Pushing is Legal:
The NCAA allows pushing the runner, but not pulling or picking up the runner.
- Penalty:
The penalty for assisting the runner (pulling or grasping) is a five-yard penalty with three-and-one enforcement.
- Approved Ruling:
Back A22 grabbing the arm of A44 and trying to pull him forward is a foul, while pushing the ball carrier or the pile is legal.
- NFL vs. NCAA:
The NFL also prohibits pulling the ball carrier, but the rule in the NFL is 10 yards, not 5.
Interesting breakdown.

RB putting his hand on the back of an OL or pushing him towards a tackle seems like it's fine.
I interpret grasp to a "closed hand" around a jersey or body part.
If the RB grabbed the OL jersey and directed him that could be a "grasp" and against the rules.
cheating is them holding on to the defensive player and if they push ( block) the D player in the back .
Also blocking a player below the waist in not allowed.
So the tush push might be looked on like that..
If the tush push should be allowed, why not allow the ball carrier to be pulled forward or have the OL lift the runner up and throw him over the D-Line to get a first down/TD or carry him forward to make the play a success ? Both of those moves are disallowed as should be the tush push , in my opinion.
"the RUNNER".. not a teammate.. but while we are at it, why is grabbing jerseys of defenders legal in blocking if it is inside the shoulders? Is blocking that impossible without actually holding every play?
