You make a good point about the NCAA's weakness in enforcing what should have been a punishable offense but in this case:This is really sad and pathetic. No fault of her own. She learns of this and her parents try to pay back the entire sum which was only about $850+ and she can't play her entire senior year in HS. Yet, UNC can create all kinds of corrupt practices and the NCAA looks the other way and doesn't even slap them on the risk. Where is the proportionality? There is none between HC, college, the NCAA and rules governing amateur athletes.

I'd put this squarely on the Alabama High School Athletic Association pettiness and poor judgement.
At least the NCAA isn't trying to find a reason to disqualify Maori from playing her freshman season at Rutgers.
