Boy, it would be a shame if Ohio State took Maryland into triple overtime before the terrapins finally won the game despite coming out of it with validated reports that several players were banged up.

Wishful thinking. They know that we're a .500 team coming to town.....with two lottery picks.it's just a .500 team coming into town.
Last time this happened was Northwestern (lost by 9 but scored 51 second half points) and we beat them. Time before that was Nebraska (lost by 36 to Purdue) and we beat them tooWhenever a team has a deflating loss and their next game is against RU, it never goes well for RU. At least it seems to be so.
January was always his bugaboo at Seton Hall.I could be wrong but it seems like Willard teams over the years are pretty streaky month to month. Hopefully Feb sucks for them
That’s him in a nutshell.January was always his bugaboo at Seton Hall.
Well, and March. Couldn't win a damn thing in the NCAAs. He usually got us there, but then it was like being a MAAC team, where you're just supposed to be happy to be there. (Although I guess that sounds OK as I type this in February 2025.)
I wasn't a big fan. Didn't hate him and we were always pretty good once he got rolling, but there were years we definitely underachieved, at least in the NCAAs. Teams get upset, but we could count on early exits every year, and some of those teams were better than that. We could also count on underpeforming to the seed the team was good enough to earn. What I mean is that in 2018, for example, we had a really talented team, but we hit the usual January swoon, wound up in the 8/9 game (this team was probably 6-seed good), and even though we won that, you get the top seed next. You can't advance. (Well, you can, but Willard was already overperforming winning the first round!)That’s him in a nutshell.
He’s good but you think he really should be better. Gotta away with a lot at SHU.
Lost respect for him when he dodged Rutgers and played PSU instead during COVID Stuff.
Clearly we are in his head
Anyway, this is one of those odd games where I'm not clearly rooting against Rutgers. It's a strange feeling...
