Harper for the season is at 28% from 3....but it started 5 for 36....
Since the start of the new year, it's been 16 B1G games and RU is 7 and 9 in those 16 B1G games.
Harper is shooting 22 of 58 from 3....37.93% or rounded up, he's at 38% from 3.
Included in that 22 of 58 are 2 games of 8 of 14 vs Iowa and 0 of 7 at Illinois.
He's delivered a 3 pointer in 12 of the 16 B1G games since the start of the new calendar year.
Montez has also stepped up since the restart of the calendar year or in 16 B1G games.
Prior to January, Montez was 3 of 20 from 3....keep in mind those 3 made 3's, came in the 1st TWO games....Montez went 10 games without a 3 pointer made and went 0-17 over that stretch. That's an extended period of games.
Since the restart of B1G games, Mathis is.a more legitimate shooting percentage from 3...keep in mind, defensive teams are going to give him space, because he's capable of driving around defenders.
Mathis is 12 of 41 from 3, which doesn't sound good, but it's very solid 29% from 3....of the 12 3s, none was bigger than the corner 3 vs Minnesota, a game changing/saving 3, that kept RU in it.
These 16 B1G games are more indicative of what has allowed RU to win 7 of 16 B1G games since January...and we started 0-3 in the B1G overall, so RU is 7 - 8 in their last 15 B1G games. With a chance to go 8-8 on Wednesday night.
These are real changes that along with both players defense, rebounding and ability to score in transition, gives RU easier baskets.....3's look good, but nothing better than a fast break dunk or layup.
