He has been here for seven years. Either he has the relationships to recruit highly regarded NJ club players or he doesn't. He has gotten a few but evidently not enough. If he could get good players elsewhere I don't think anyone would hold it against him but he seems very short this year. I would have never thought with Wright upfront they would have this much difficulty scoring goals. Over the seven years it seems like one step forward then two steps back. Clearly lacking consistency.
...lose 2 of the guys expected to take pressure off of Wright, for the year, and there you go. Not sure how it's "2 steps back" considering we made it to the semis of the B1G and 2nd round of NCAA's just LAST year. Lots of issues this year, no doubt, but many of them out of DD's control.

I know he made the round of 16 in his second or third year but they have been up and down with no real evidence of building a sustainable Top 25 program that I think most believe is a reasonable aspiration for Mens Soccer.
What if RU soccer loses out? Is DD a dead man walking if that's the case? You said "1 step forward, 2 steps back." I disagree and feel it's "1 step back" this year due to the slew of circumstances they've faced. Flop again next year, for any reason, and I think DD is in trouble.
The only way this year is only one step back is if you don't care how bad the record is. Besides he has not enough success to get a pass on 2014 AND this year. You said "1 step forward, 2 steps back."
