There was one play in the first half in which his pocket was picked from behind. I couldn’t believe that he didn’t have the court sense to realize that the defender he just went past would chase and catch up to him. It should be innate that you need to protect the ball from chasing defenders, especially when you are slowing down. It was very D3 like

That play was laughably bad.

As the play was developing and he passed the defender, I said to myself, he can't really continue dribbling the ball out to the side like a waiter holding a tray of hors d'oeuvres.

That was the kind of play people make on the playground when 1 team is good and the other stinks.

I'm sure this is true....but can't afford the the experiment in close games. Again, likely why he was pulled.

I feel like it was just a week ago I was saying Souf needs to be given more time by the fan base before he's run out of town. But geez, he's been more of a liability when he's out there than anything else so far. He doesn't need to score, just play a few minutes of some reasonable defense and avoid turnovers on offense. If he can't handle those two assignments for 6 minutes a game then there's no reason to bring him off the bench. We've seen Dadika do both.

Hopefully we see more, but it's hard not to agree with you right now. Could be feeling some early pressure to - let's hope so.

Souf could use a little boost of confidence. He has hesitated a couple times down the court, and it's hurt him. He needs to turn on the jets and sail through the lane, then either kick it out or take it to the rim.

If he makes the shot or finds an open man or gets fouled, he'll have a positive impact on our offense. A couple of those and he'll feel a lot better about his ability to compete at this level, and so will we.

Mike Williams is a career 29% three point shooter with his best year being about 32%. He is at 37% overall for his career. Mike Coburn was a 34% career three-point shooter and shot 37 and 36% from 3 his last two years. He shot 43% overall for his career. The fact that the fans scream for Williams to shoot and screamed for Coburn not to shoot does not make Williams a better shooter.

Coburn actually had a decent senior year under Rice. He and Beatty played much better than expected that year.

But Coburn wasn't really even a shooter. He had just 167 three point attempts in 127 games, or just 1.3 attempts per game. He made just 0.4 per game.

Compare career 2P FG%, and Williams is ahead .440 to .428 (and just looking at Jr years, the last full year of comparison for both, Williams outshot him inside the arc .462 to .434). From the FT line, Williams is a career .769 to Coburn's .671
