I went to a little event that the Jets were throwing for suite owners and had the chance to spend some time with Geno last night. I mentioned to Geno that I went to Rutgers and he kicked our asses, to which he replied, "that was a long time ago. They're much better now". Thought that was funny, especially since it was only a few years ago. Maybe living in NJ has changed his perception?

He was right. The 2010 ass kicking was one of the worst teams we've had here in a while. 6 years is a long time ago and we are a lot better than we were that year.
The next year was the Legrand honoring game where we led at the half 31-21. Really blew that one.
Those were the only two meetings with Mr Smith.
I will never forget that game for as long as I live. I was coming from a 5k in Hoboken and was way underdressed. Swung by the k-mart on Easton and had to buy pants and a sweater. Our friends all cancelled on the tailgate so it was just me and my now wife "tailgating" by sitting in the car drinking a 30 and eating tacos. Spent much of the game in the bathroom putting my hands and feet up to the hand dryer just to warm them up. Must have bough 5-6 hot chocolates. DONT PLOW THE FIELD. Heartbreaking
It's all relative. How old is Geno? 23, 24?? Six years IS a long time ago to a 24 year old. It's 25% of his life. Now to me... after following RU football since about 1970... the 2006 game against Loiusville seems like just yesterday and the day Scianno was hired does not seem that long ago.
Every time I think of that game I cannot believe we allowed WVU to have a TENT on their side of the field to keep Geno our of the snow/sleet.
Let me guess, Gino attempted to throw you a poster with his autograph, but it got picked off by a waiter. :)
'7o" wasnt that the era Ed McMichael QBed RU? I've seen so much since I started following RU,Bateman, Frank Burns et al and we've come a long way since I was growing up in Belleville!!
I still want the parties or party responsible for that field plowing decision to never get rid of the boils on their ass/asses!:D
