I guess it was widely speculated but now official
Email just sent out

I need to be convinced. Taking a home game to a neutral site. I have to think a loss of revenue. I have a feeling this team will need every advantage we can get.

Last year's team might not have made the NCAA tournament if one of our home games was at MSG.
We should get a road big ten game at the garden next year as part of the deal
If we don’t I would agree with you

Tickets for the general public will go on sale on Tuesday, Nov. 22 at Noon ET, and can be purchased through Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling (866) 858-0008. To learn about luxury suites and premium hospitality, call 212-465-6771 or e-mail msgsuites@msg.com.

Rutgers Season Ticket Holders

On that application, season ticket holders may select the price level that they wish to purchase the tickets at. The deadline to request tickets for Super Saturday will be Tuesday, January 10, 2023. Following the deadline, requests will begin to be allocated in priority point order. All tickets will be mobile and the Rutgers Ticket Office will transfer the tickets to the email address on file the week of Jan. 16.

How is giving up a conference home game to play on a neutral court good for the program when no other conference team has to do it?

Is Michigan playing Ohio State in Detroit?

Is Maryland playing Penn State In Baltimore?

Northwestern playing Michigan State in Chicago?

Etc…

Also the coach of that team we are playing hates playing at the RAC so he gets a neutral court advantage in an away conference game.

Again, how is this good?

My understanding was the next year we would have a big ten team play their home game at the garden

The first time we played Michigan at the garden it was their home game
They still won and it was their home game

If there is no big ten team playing us next year as their home game then I would agree with you

Ok why is no one else doing it as I stated?

Examples:

Michigan vs Ohio State in Detroit
I don’t know that
I still have no problem with it if Michigan state plays us at the garden as their home game next year

That part is important

It is good publicity for our program and we get an impressive turnout

Ok why do we have to give up a conference home game every other year and no one else does?

This is fair scheduling?
You are not following what I am saying

Every other year they should have a big ten team give up their home game for a garden game
Or else no deal

Ok why doesn’t Michigan play a game in Detroit?
Northwestern in Chicago?
Penn State in Pittsburgh?

Let’s make it fair that’s all I’m saying
It’s all about market exposure and selling tickets. The other venues do nothing for the BIG. Showcasing periodic games at the Garden is huge for them. Feauturing PSU games in Pittsburg, for instance, would be a net negative for the conference.

I’m not sure why anyone thinks of this as a net negative as long it alternates us giving up a home game vs a road game whenever scheduled. Last time we game up a road game. If anything, the computer numbers work in our favor with this arrangement for basketball because if we’re in the hunt we’re always going to draw as well if not better than whoever they match ups with at MSG (and it counts as a neutral game in NET for both).

It's saying 'BIG 10 Super Saturday' - is there other B1G games at MSG all day this day or is it just the Rutgers game?

yeah it works ,i got front row of upper with fees was about $45 / ticket. not terrible.

One further thing
When the big ten invited us, part of the sales pitch was RU being the NY area team at some point

We have had a hard time with football but have made strides in basketball

The big ten wants this
And we come off looking very good win or lose
