Michigan WR to prep school

I wouldn't rule it out. Michigan has ZERO WR recruits in their 2017 class and there aren't too many spots left.

They won't have "ZERO WR" recruits in 2017 for long. If you follow B1G recruiting generally, you may have heard that they will get DPJ (5 star) and Nico Collins (high 4 star). They basically already turned down a few other WRs because of that.

Therefore, I doubt Michigan holds a spot for a prep school kid - i.e., if he has academic problems BEFORE college, imagine having to work that out year after year DURING college.

I could be wrong but of the Camden group there was only one of them that actually ended up in a P5 program and that was the defense end at Michigan?

A lot of guys who had academic problems in high school, end up doing well in college.

Why risk it with a borderline academic kid when you can get a solid academic kid? I mean, everything is relative, right?

I'm sure some borderline kids do well, but maybe 35%... whereas, I would rather spend my scholarship spot on a kid who has a 95% chance of doing well academically (assuming equal athletic skills).

At Michigan A kid like Hawkins who attended a failing school would get lots of help to stay eligible and even prosper. Rutgers is not the only school who have tutors for all of the kids and mandatory study hall time daily. You think Camden kids are getting tutors and mandatory study time? I don't most of these kids are on their own and many times they have zero at home in terms of support. Hawkins may turn into a Rhodes scholar after being able to qualify for division one sports out of that school system.

I guess any argument is valid if you can make up stats to prove it.

Aren't all stats made up?

Wasn't there a quote that there are three types of lies.

"Lies, Damn Lies, and Statistics!"

63.7% of all statistics are made up on the spot.

3 out of 4 Americans make up 75% of the country.

A statistics professor once explained to me how statistics can be mis-used. His example was this: The odds of there being a bomb on an airplane are 1,000,000 to 1. The odds of there being two bombs on an airplane are 1,000,000,000,000 (a Trillion) to 1. That does not mean that when you are flying, you should always bring a bomb with you.

Maybe I'm thinking about the wrong kid. Didn't we work him out at a camp a few weeks ago? We decided to pass? If this is same kid then he is qualified.

Different kid, Hollaway was the DE who camped. He was originally a Cuse commit.
