Brady Hoke left a lot of players behind when Jim Harbaugh took over, yet Big Jim was able to turn a 5-7, non-ranked team to a #4 ranking and a 5-0 start. Harbaugh didn't bring in 85 of 'his kids.' He took what he had, and turned a lot of Hokes 'mediocre' players into hard nose athletes.

Even Shane Morris, he was feasibly worse than Laviano, took snaps against Wisconsin yesterday and looked great. Two years ago, he was called the worst QB in michigans 137 year history.

Coincidence or coaching? I think we all know the answer to that question.

Point being, these players don't respect Ash. He doesn't know how to MAKE athletes out of these kids, he doesn't hold them accountable and he accepts mediocrity.

Rutgers has some really solid players, especially the DB's.. Cioffi and Wharton.. The offensive line has talent and could be amazing.. But Ash doesn't know how to lead Blazek, and that's where it all starts and ends. I don't know why he seemed to leave behind all of the knowledge he gained under Urban at OSU.

As for QB, if Gio doesn't get snaps, he should transfer. How much more do you have to show the coaches/team to just get a shot. CL does GREAT in practice and sucks at game time. Gio showed what he can do, GIVE THE KID A SHOT. I guarantee Harbaugh would be playing the hell out of Gio if he went to Michigan, especially when they get within 15 yrds of the end zone. He needs to be smart, put in his powerhouse to finish the job.. And who knows, he might just be able to pass too! But how would we know?

There is no real leadership, and until Rutgers can find a real head coach, this team will continue to be a 3 win per season team.

Great comparison. Michigan's recruiting and roster with Rutgers under the Flood era.

THIS GUY IS A TROLL, PROBABLY SYRACUSE WITH 7 POST. BRADY RECRUITING CLASSES WERE IN THE TOP 10 EVERY YEAR.

Thank you Mrs. Flood!

Try reading the Asbury Park Press today stating it "is not current coach Chris Ash's fault. It's a result of Flood's inability to keep Rutgers stocked with the type of talent predecessor Greg Schiano had brought to the Scarlet Knights".

Just crunched the numbers

247 Ratings for Michigan players who are Jrs and Above:
41 Players rated at an avg of 0.9087

THAT IS A LOT OF TALENT HOKE LEFT!!

Here's a comparison:

Rutgers entire current roster:
77 rated players at an avg of 0.8296
That includes the high ratings of Rettig, Grant, Washington

Great suggestion ArminRU, since I don't say what you want to hear, ban me. I'm a troll from another board? Lol..that's why I use my actual name as a user name.. Look, I apologize if you missed the point.. I'll try to make it easier.

1. Rutgers has plenty of talent.
2. The coaching staff has no clue how to utilize that talent.

Is that better? I watch Rutgers every Saturday just like you, I just finally decided to pay to post cause I'm sick of seeing all the pathetic excuses as to why this team is so horrible. Want to ban me for my opinion. Go for it.

Lack of talent wasn't the issue at Michigan before Harbaugh got there. Coaching was. For all his antics, Harbaugh is a proven coach who's won everywhere he's been.

The problem at RU after Schiano left for the NFL and his players graduated was talent and coaching. Big difference.

Insightful response.

I'd rather not waste time on a troll. Nobody is taking you serious because your post is full of made up garbage.

-Hoke recruited very well and Harbough was loaded with talent. Yes, Harbough is a better coach than Hoke
-Shane Morris runs and throws much better than Laviano. This one is not even close. He was a blue chip recruit if I remember correctly and comes in for special packages. He's 2/3rd string. Again, what are you talking about?
-Players don't respect Ash? Um what? That's his strength. Troll.
-Not gonna touch the team talent comment
-What has Gio done again?

"In your heart, you know he's right."
You never miss an opportunity to show what an imbecile you are, do you. This board was a better place before you and your buddy Garybedow joined. I guess the old saying is true, like minds think alike. Because that was simply the most imbecilic OP post I've ever read.

Hoke still recruited 4, 5 star players who Harbaugh took advantage of and coached them up. Flood recruited kids who only had offers from schools like Delaware and Eastern Michigan. Can Ash get at least one season in before you start trashing him? And if youre one of the Al Golden people, he couldnt get Miami HS players to commit to U of Miami. And do you really want to put up with Donofrio and his 10 yard cushioned zone defenses?

Michigan had great talent and a horrible Coach, RU has minimal talent and the right Coach. That should sum it up! I can absolutely live with that.

Anyone who thinks this 2016 team has "talent" is sorely mistaken. What level of talent are you talking about? Big Ten/Power 5 level talent? Besides Grant, this team has very little of it, if any.

Which specific players on this team, besides Grant, do you think would see the field at Ohio State or Michigan?
How about at lesser Big Ten schools like PSU or Wisconsin or Nebraska?

CHECK YOUR FACTS before posting your verbal vomit.

Shane threw 14-40 with 46 total yards in 2014 with 3 interceptions under Hoke. This year, he's 4-4 with 194 total yards under Harbaugh. So who has the talent here? Harbaugh is turning him into a QB, period.

Rutgers players, especially Gio, are extremely talented, but Ash doesn't have the ability to develop him the way Harbaugh is developing his 'formerly' shitty players.

I don't give a shit how many 'stars' the recruit has, if the coach sucks, the player will not develop.

It's like having a blind Drivers Ed instructor. These kids are doomed. (With the exception of Grant, he's just a natural born talent with incredible instincts.) Unfortunately there's only one of him and he's injured.

What's happening this year is the reason Flood was fired.

This is the most talent depleted team we've had since early in the Schiano era.

Are you really comparing the situation Harbaugh inherited to what Ash had to take over? Really? smh You really don't know.

If you think the two scenarios are comparable, let's trade rosters and see what the result is. Besides, I don't know how you can actually draw the conclusions you do after less than half a seaon. Rutgers = rebuild. Michigan = reload. Hell, Michigan didn't even have to reload. By most accounts, they had the horses, but Hoke just wasn't a good coach.

Is thus guy serious?

I know more about Mich football than I'd care to since my friend is a Mich grad.

Morris was highly recruited but didn't pan out and was recruited over. He's now 3rd string but comes in for special QB running situations. He will never start again at Michigan. If that's "turning him into a QB" uh ok.

As a fan from another school that visits your board on occasion, the OP is actually hilarious. I think most of you realize that he's probably from another fan base just trolling and trying to get under your skins. I've been watching Big 10 football since the early 60s and can say that you guys do not have the talent RIGHT NOW to compete with the OSUs of the CF world. This is not a slam just an observation that's pretty evident to many. Ash just needs 2 or 3 years - not a few games into his first season - before a judgement can be made on how's he's doing. New coaches at OSU and Michigan will always inherit 4 and some 5 star talent from his predecessor - not the case at Rutgers.

To the OP - you sir, are a first-class dipsh!t.

There must be some sort of competition between newbies to see who can post the most asinine opinions. This guy has to be near the top of the leaderboard.

From an OSU fan, Darius Hamilton would be in OSU's 2 deep at DT, if not start. I've been following him for some years, he's a man..OSU & a host of teams would gladly take a healthy Janarion Grant. Turay and Robert Martin are also players that catch my eye. I loved watching Leante Caroo play. It's all about recruiting and unfortuantely that takes several years and patience isn't in the fanatic's vocab.

The OP's post is the epitome of the low IQ this board has.

It's getting comical. I'm guessing it's another schools fan trolling. No one can be this football dumb.
