Monmouth is beating Georgetown by 14 with 14 minutes to go. Boy they are going to crush us

Georgetown is not helped with this year's officiating. The days of mugging, bumping, grabbing, clutching, and undressing opponents are a thing of the past.

They are coming Sunday. They will likely beat us and take over our arena.

I hope it will be a call to action for our AD. He'll get to see 25 years of failure in 2 hours

I'm watching that game also. Monmouth is really good !

Also kind of surprised at how dead and empty a Georgetown home game is. Stands look like the RAC or worse wherever the camera can see at least

that guard they have Justin Robinson is a great player. any conference. they move the ball beautifully and much more athletic then I thought. they will be favored by 19.

Every cloud has a silver lining observation.

And Georgetown is not that good, and they are one of the better teams in that conference?

I heard the bench did the Sistine Chapel during the game. Not sure what that is. Expect lots of hijnx at the RAc Sunday

I have a sneaky feeling that RU has a shot to win this one. Its too obvious that Monmouth will come into the RAC with 2-3K fans and take over the RAC and win the game. I have a feeling they are due for a letdown and may play tight. I am not yet ready to say Rutgers will win this game but how many times do we see schools crash and burn against an inferior opponent after an upset win

If we don't have Freeman, it will be a beat down. And I don't buy that they will be tight. They have been to UCLA, ND and G'town and won. This will be a bad scene.

So do people still think their coach would not be a good fit for RUTGERS?

Why or why not?
That is a heck of a tournament resume they are putting together.
And everyone says they look "well coached?"

Sounds good to me!

So we are at the point where we are hoping this is a WTF game for Monmouth.

As an assistant coach he was suspended a game for charging into the stands after a fan. Also involved in some sort of alleged domestic violence incident as a player at UNC in addition to other violent incidents. He's also a recovering alcoholic if you choose to hold that against him.

Your question was why wouldn't he be a fit at Rutgers, right?

He has made a big deal of cleaning up his life. He seems to be doing a hell of a job. I'm a fan of
Lonergan, but King Rice would be an exciting hire.

Maybe we can get Pope Francis to replace Jordan.

How can someone say Georgetown isn't that good. They beat cuse, Wisconsin, lost to #3 Maryland by 4, lost to #5 duke by 2. They may not be great but Monmouth beat a good team.

Georgetown hasn't played like that since the 1st John Thompson was there.

King Rice has encouraged the Bench Mob. He may be on to something. Monmouth is making national headlines with their play on the court and their "play" on the bench. Monmouth has a great location, right by the beach in a nice town, West Long Branch. Great bar scene nearby, and beach, surfing and fishing within walking distance. That will appeal to some kids.

All it means to me is that good coaches find ways to win. Bad coaches dont

Told you 6 weeks ago----they go 10 deep and they play fast.

Probably not a better time for them to play GTown as they were in the middle of exams but winning by 10 plus on the road is a helluva win.

Frankly if you don't think the Bench Mob is funny your friends need to get you a sense of humor for Xmas.

When does the bench mob do their thing?

Throughout the entire game?
Early or late in the game?
After a good play?
Do they do it only when they are winning?

Some of those answers might determine whether it seems like they are rubbing it in their opponents faces or being disrespectful.

its cute at first but gets old real quick...and I would have to raise the idea that they are rubbing it their opponents faces by doing it. The NCAA has signed off on it but how is this any better than a guy celebrating on the field after a touchdown

It was hilarious when i first saw it. terrel owns and chad johnson were hilarious too. Vai Sikahema (sp?) is my all time favorite.

However as a competitor and a fan playing against the team and someone seeing it for the Nth time it isn't funny.

Someone (maybe Mike Williams) will take exception of confront them. If a bench clearing brawl breaks out the MAAC and/or NCAA are to blame. Not the team that takes exception.

Its different because the guys are on the bench. Its not like the players on the court are acting out skits after making a shot. Players on the sideline can do whatever they want after their team scores a touchdown.
