Most difficult 5 game stretch in Rutgers football history

And how old are the stupid... "Must be mrs. flood, or. Must be. Laviano's girlfriend" comments every time there is a post in support of those two. Those jokes were funny maybe the first time I read them, maybe ten years ago.. But in every thread. And multiple times in a thread? Really? Can people come up with anything else at least?
Absent logic, it's the only legit explanation. No sane person would keep trying this, and expecting it to work. Fumbled snaps, underground balls are routine events; passes to Phantom WRs. It's a mess.

Tells you a lot about how poorly Rettig must perform away from the fans eyes. And he didn't win over any converts today from his time on the field.

Laviano is bad. Flood is not a good coach. Give Rettig a legit shot. /end

Did mr hondo77 really expect something different out of these four games with a first year starting QB (whoever it was going to be) replacing three OL starters and burton. As well as losing arguably our best two players to injury. I would love to see rational reason why anyone would be expecting an improvement this year.
So why not try SOMETHING DIFFERENT just ONE FRIGGIN TIME?

Totally agree. It was obvious coming into this season we were replacing many key players at key positions with very young and inexperienced players. It was clear to me and many others I knew that this was going to be a rough year. And to make matters worse we lost our top player on both defense and offense To injury for most of the season. And the defensive backfield was devastated by the off-season issues and player dismissals. We are so young it is rediculous.
Everything you said is true, BUT the team's issues seem to run a lot deeper than just that. It doesn't seem like time and more experience is going to fix what ails us.

The Las Vegas over/under for wins this year was 4.5. It looks we will be right there as expected.

This board continues to act like a child having a temper tantrum. Are there any adults left?
there's a HUGE difference between losing 4.5 games and getting shellacked and looking like a High School Team in the process. A basic lack of fundamentals of kicking, tackling, being in position, blocking, taking a snap, and making simple plays. Not to mention the coaching decisions (or lack thereof) in support of the cause.

With the emergence of Michigan as a top 20 power team, it appears Rutgers has just completed its most difficult 5 game stretch of its 146? Years of playing football. And that is even with 4-5 Indiana included in the 5.

Assuming a win tonight for OSU,
The combined record of the other 4 teams we just played are 32 - 4
With Indiana it is 36 - 9

Among those 4 teams are 2 top ten teams, one top twenty and one that has flirted with the top twenty during the season

Can anyone think of any stretch of opponents that have ever come close to what we just completed?
The funniest part of your post is that when you wrote this thinking you were so profound, the outlier in your argument (Indiana) had also just played a brutal 4 out 5 schedule (OSU, Mich St, Penn State and undefeated Iowa) and managed to keep their margin of defeat to an average of only 16 points!

I see we've moved from the Laviano is an excellent QB argument to the other guy must really suck argument...

nicely done.

Let him have a real shot, THEN we can judge.
I've seen CL, not impressed.

And we all saw Rettig and again had to call a time out because he could not call a play off his wrist band. And I am less impressed.

A Strong arm does not make him a better choice. he has shown in the past two week why he is the second stringer. His slow read of the field makes him hold the ball longer and he do not have the movement skills in the pocket i.e. he gets sacked.

Excuse me but I have never made any comment ever, stating Laviano is excellent or even a good QB in any way, shape or form. I have never commented about his relative abilities . Have only ever stated that I am sticking with the coaches decision that he is the QB that will give us a better shot to win, and I have pointed out how poorly Rettig has fared in comparable environments. I have commented that he has done enough to get us wins... but never ever did I comment that he is a good QB. He is a young inexperienced QB, who is taking his lumps. Why would I ever expect him to be good at this point or comment to that effect. I have also pointed out stats that our offense has amassed against the Michigan defense and pointed out comparable stats accumulated by other teams against the same defense. I have never once made any judgement on Laviano's abilities based on the data I presented. I have left the interpretation up to the reader.

And likewise, when I have sen people posting stats that Laviano is the xth highest rated QB in the Big Ten... I have never seen anyone state that they thought Laviano was a good or excellent QB. They just post stats. It is the anti- Lavianoists that jump down the posters throat telling us all how much Laviano sucks. You people friggin crack me up.
