Logged in to B1G network ... Saw 2-0 ... Women were shutout in their championship game ... We just don't get it done ... Was hoping for a magical weekend, guess not ... Time to root for the ladies.

I wouldn't say game over, as we got a lot of chances over the last 20 minutes, but it sure seems like the typical RU performance in a big game. Its really unbelieveable how we ALWAYS come up short.

Now 3-0. Seriously don't know why I bother getting interested. If there is another school that has less success than RU, I sure don't know who it is.

Final Score OSU 4-0 over Rutgers.

Rutgers will have to wait to see if they make the NCAA tournament.

IIRC the men were picked either last, or next to last, in the pre-season, but made the semis and WILL be in the NCAA's. The girls made it to the title game, and are realistically a year or two away from a title, but still locked-down an NCAA 2-seed.

I'm as upset as anyone right now but have a little perspective.

Agree. Disappointing performance today for sure, particularly giving up a goal in the first minute of both halves, but we need to take a step back here and look at the bigger picture (which is positive).

At the half: Rutgers 1 , FDU 0. We outshot them 12 to 5 and finally broke through just before halftime. Keep it up, ladies!

The RU women scored with 5 seconds remaining in the first half to take a 1-0 halftime lead over FDU. The second half will begin at around 8:03 pm. You can watch it on BTN to Go. Rutgers had 12 shots to 3 for FDU. Rutgers had no saves, FDU had 3.

It's a weird broadcast in that there are no announcers and just a single continuous camera angle.

Rutgers is wearing black, in case anyone couldn't tell.

Right there with you Nuts! Yes we're on the same page here. Thr ladies certainly have made us proud regardless what the final outcome may be. As opposed to one other team the big picture is very promising especially with the young players who are contributing and more on the way.

The Rutgers women have won against FDU. Final score 1-0.

Meh. It's not like it was a big game or anything. By definition, it could not have been a big game, since we won. Had we lost, then it would have been a big game, providing further evidence that RU never wins big games.

At least that is the conclusion I draw from reading this thread.

I would add that WBB also had a big win - under the definition that any road win is big. 78-65 over St. Joseph's.

Seems the ladies have a legit shot at making the final 8. Soccer is always a little screwed with the low scoring but how sweet would a final four be?

The men's uniforms don't have a thread of red in them. Can never tell that they are Rutgers.

Women's barely squeaked out a win vs an inferior team.
They need to play much better next round.

Men's hoops was actually tied at half with RU Newark?????

I like the all black men's soccer uniforms more than the red and white horizontal stripes they used to wear. Ugh. They will still be in the NCAAs based on being a top 25 team before the Ohio State loss. Program is moving in the right direction.

Women's team needs to finish more, sure, but we totally controlled that game. We outshot them 21-7 and had more shots on goal, 12 to 1. One shot on goal allowed! The defense has been awesome all year with only eight goals allowed in 22 matches. Hofstra vs Georgetown starts at 1 PM Saturday to see who we will face on Friday.

Men's hoops had Sanders out all game and Freeman in the first half, plus you know that RU Newark had to be totally fired up to get a shot at us. We pushed the lead out to 22 in the second half. Let's see how the game against Howard goes tomorrow.
