According to SK.com, they list "458 tickets left" on the schedule page. No idea how accurate that really is, but it's at least a good sign. Would be very cool to upset Miami on the road and come into this game with some momentum and play well at a full RAC. We played them pretty well last year. Will be there screaming, lol.

Hmmm never have seen that before. Cool if true. Subway alumni will be there in droves.

Never saw that before either. Now it says "256 tickets left."

Not sure how accurate that is. In 312, all of Row E is available but Rows F-L are sold out? In all sections, nothing behind Row G shows as for sale. Doesn't seem right.

I know they hold 300 back for RAC Pass holders but still.

It's a scam. Plenty of seats left but ticket office has manipulated the system to look like just a few seats left. Disgrace.

Huh?

Not saying you're wrong but what would be the motivation in doing that? Isn't their job to sell tickets?

Same concept of annouced crowd vs. scanned gate tickets. Done to make things look better than they really are.

announced vs. actual is after the event has started and doesn't directly lead to lost revenue (not for that event anyway)...and I understand the strategy of doing that.

what I don't get is a ticket strategy that would essentially prevent interested customers from actually buying tickets...this definitely isn't my area of expertise but it would seem odd to show entire sections of seats unavailable to drive a couple hundred people to buy nosebleed seats (I am using the #s listed above).

am I following what you're accusing RU of doing?

It may be possible that the tix at even higher rows in the nosebleeds are showing unavailable because a) they've already been handed out as freebies b) otherwise distributed at deep discounts or reserved for RAC Passholdersor c) possibly set aside for some students in the event endzone tix are no longer available.

Saying something is "a disgrace" without having any knowledge about what the actual story is is a bit harsh.

I'm guessing it's the RAC pass. I'll check back in Friday and let you know if they assign me 312. For St. John's, it was 317 and the last 4 or 5 rows were empty. Same deal for BU, no one in 301 where I was assigned.

Why is the game 6pm? It will be a late arriving crowd which doesn't help Rutgers.

For TV. See the other thread complaining that our games are never on TV. You wanna be on TV, you play when they tell you.

There's a tripleheader on BTN that night:

RU/MSU at 6
Wisconsin/Iowa at 8
Oklahoma State/Minnesota at 10

So of the three only Iowa gets a 7:00 local start. Minnesota tips at 9:00 local, we go at 6:00

Yeah I get that, but, 6pm is going to tough on a lot of fans unless they made arrangements in advance.

Yeah, I didn't even know it was 6:00 until your post but luckily for me it's not a problem. Could see it being a very late-arriving crowd.

Rush hour on 287 and 18 on a Friday night not a problem. Classic!

And fans are not supposed to complain?

You should learn to stfu!! Just kidding - someone had to do it. Yeah, 6 pm sucks, but being in the AAC and not on TV sucks more. I'll be there on time, but I live close by, so it's easy for me. Can't imagine having to negotiate 287 to get there on time on a Friday at night. Let's just hope the rain showers (`30% chance of some light showers) don't materialize, as rain at night always makes things worse.

I mean, if we want to continue to receive "advances" on our "full share" of the B1G payout, we will do whatever the hell Delany tells us to do, including scheduling a game against a perennial top 10 team at 6:00 p.m. on a Friday night.

Obviously they have a deal with StubHub because their are plenty of seats available there. This must be a calculated move by the athletic department. It kind of sucks because with stub hub fees, tickets are more expensive then thru the department.

Also some people may not want to buy from 3rd party, potentially preventing people from buying.

For instance, I have a friend that isn't a big basketball fan but would consider going day of for $20 at the door. Now, he won't bother.

Just goes to show you can’t please everyone.

It's not a calculated move by the athletic department. They're not supplying tickets to StubHub. They're partnering with StubHub so people feel safe buying from the site. StubHub guarantees every ticket they sell. If you get scammed, they'll replace the ticket for you.

But why not let people still buy thru the ticket office? Obviously not all tickets have been sold. What's the purpose of calling it a "sellout" when it's not ?
