MSU game was listed with 458 tickets left on Monday; now sold out - RAC is gonna rock on Friday!!.

6pm brutal no way can swing it
6pm is the best start time on a friday night tbh. Evidenced by the sell out, plenty can make it but more importantly, students will be out in force. They'll be done with the game by 8, have time to go home and shower and be ready to pre-game by 9. Whereas 7pm games that backs everything up an hour and causes some of them to not go.

Is it that big of a risk? You see a game is closing in on a sell out. You check the secondary market and see that tickets are going above face. You buy and turn them around pretty quickly. Also possible that people are reselling their free tickets I agree.

And I agree with Upstream, there is no way that Rutgers ticket office isn't smart enough to do this themselves.

When the margin is so small between prices of tickets you could buy through the Rutgers ticket office and what they’re currently going for on the third party sites ($20-$25) it is a risk. Also, Rutgers hasn’t sold out a November basketball game since 1997 and is pretty much pegged to finish last in the conference this year by most “experts”.

Rutgers ticket office isn’t that swift but it may be part of the partnership/contract that they entered into with Stubhub. By announcing selllouts in advance, and placing tickets with Stubhub and directing fans to Stubhub it drives traffic and consumers over their way and then Stubbuh makes $ off the fees.

I only brought this point up because people were actually complaining Rutgers announced a sellout when there was 500 tickets available on Stubhub.

Either way doesn’t really matter. Looks like a solid crowd will be there Friday and it will be a great atmosphere especially if they pull off a W against Miami tonight.

We'll see on Friday night. Around 6:30 look up to the 300 sections. If full then good but if there are plenty of empty seats then the sell out announcement was false.

The sell out announcement was not false because the ticket office sold all their Tickets. Hence a sell out.

That’s what a sell out means. Not that every seat is taken.

I'm guessing the alternate traffic entrance pattern will be in place. They had it in place for SJU, but didn't make an announcement like they did before some of last year's games.

It is. They included this in the official release about the game being sold out.

Mods should not be changing thread titles without asking the poster if it's ok (or just ask the poster to change it...which I just did). Anyway, can't wait for this game, especially now, after such a huge win over Miami on the road.

I'm guessing it's the RAC pass. I'll check back in Friday and let you know if they assign me 312. For St. John's, it was 317 and the last 4 or 5 rows were empty. Same deal for BU, no one in 301 where I was assigned.

Assigned 311. There is a group of us here assuming are all RAC pass holders some there isn't anything else around for 10 rows in any direction.
