must read ASH interview

Nice to hear.
"I think with the select few of the players who were dismissed last year there was, but they are gone now. I think there was a real negative representation of this program, that it was a bunch of renegades. But that was not the case. The thing I was most pleasantly surprised by the most was the type of players we have. We have really good kids that want to be successful and to be coached. To say there was a discipline issue here, there was a select group of guys that had problems. It has been well-documented. That group no longer is in the program. The guys who remain have a lot of character that want to do well"

So what you're saying, Coach is that you do have a bunch of "Rutgers Guys", right? ;)

That's refreshing to hear that he feels all of the problematic players are already out of the program.

This kills the myth that was promoted by the bigmouths on this board.

Our present squad does not consist of a bunch of pansies who will jump ship with the increased demands of the new administration. We had a small group of problem children, but they were eliminated from the program largely before the season started. The guys who remain, the large majority, are a quality group of people who are willing to bust their butts to succeed.

I am personally not surprised, and I am proud to have them associated with our program.

The other thing that really impressed me with this interview was the way in which our head coach is now instilling the "chip-on-the-shoulder" mentality in our team. No one expects us to succeed next year, so we are going to get their attention by out-working them and out-fighting them when we get on the field.

When there is a discipline issue there are two entities involved. They that break the rules and they that are negligent in enforcing the rules through proper supervision and caring.

Agree.

But I think most of us will also agree there were/are more Good Guys than Bad Guys on the roster. A lot more.

The names and events of last year will fade with time but never be forgotten. And should not be. The worst of the blowback might be our inability to go after Elijah Barnwell who may end up one of the top RB recruits in the country. But I am sure we can go forth without him.

Why would there be any inability to go after Elijah Barnwell? I believe we are recruiting him.

I didn't say for sure but the family may not want the young one here after what happened with Nadir.. It is just my opinion. I hope I am wrong.
