Two huge games this week that could decide the Big 10 title...Ohio State at Purdue and Purdue at Michigan State. Purdue can basically wrap things up with 2 wins. I think they take the first but lose the 2nd. Big 10 is headed for a #1 seed for one of its team in the Big 10 tourney and probably end up with 3 top 4 seeds overall. Michigan in very good shape for a bid. Nebraska is becoming more attractive but cannot afford to slip up to Minnesota on the road this week. Maryand-Penn State looks to have huge NCAA implications for the winner and the loser. What a disappointing season for Northwestern. Schools like RU and Wisconsin looking to just play out the string at this point.

I really like the way Illinois is playing. They are my spoiler for a couple of wins in the B1G tourney.

Excellent power ranking. Only change I would have is Illinois ahead of Wisconsin. I'm bullish on Illinois

I like Illinois for a late season push too but they need to actually get some wins before I can move them up.

while they have basically tanked, Minnesota can be a dangerous team given the right spot

Preseason predictions and where Rutgers is ranked at the end of the season have a very high correlation. Its always at the bottom of B1G rankings.

yes many of our fans were outraged that RU was picked 14th this year over teams like Nebraska and Illinois...we will likely have the same posts next year when we are once again picked 14th...wash rinse repeat until the wins that actually matter come

So Mike and Eugene going down was expected by you and with them you predicted we would finish 14th. Wow, just wow!

I think I predicted RU 12th or maybe 11th will have to find the thread...but the point is that there was a thread here people went nuts because RU was picked 14th and people were talking that RU was not getting any respect... Based on last year and what we had coming back compared to other teams yeah 14th is entirely reasonable..why would magazine and big 10 writers poll not have us 14th., I predicted a bit higher but yeah 14th was always quite possible. Injuries...many teams have injuries...would we have one more win with a full roster..hmm maybe one.We certainly were not lighting it up when Eugene was healthy and after those losses to Stony Brook/Hartford with a full team I think the writing was on the wall that it was going to be tough to get to the 6 league wins everyone was shooting for..some even more...that was when the roster was fully healthy

I expect RU to be picked 14th again next year..who exactly should be they picked over. Iowa maybe...goes back to that same thing back during Jordan where people just annexed wins the next year because they thought the 2 wins would have 4 with a healthy team so that next year should be 6-8..it does not work that way. Hopefully we can get 3 this year and get to 4 next year

Some fans think that next year when we get more recruits other teams players will regress or teams will not get better and we will just pass them in the w/l column.

one other thing to note. Pikiell is a great coach. I like Pike....but this league is full of great coaches and pretty good recruiters. Last night you saw an example of great coaching on defense for Indiana. They were well prepared and had a purpose right from the get go to go after our weakness on offense and our weakness on defense. Moving up in this league will be excruitiatingly slow the next few years so people need to get used to it sooner rather than later
