- After getting dominated in the Michigan game, both lines played terrific, with the OL paving the way for 239 rushing yards and the DL getting 2.5 sacks, with other positions getting 1.5 sacks
- DL pressure influenced Maryland’s QB to throw the pick 6, after which I felt we had control of the game
- Sebastian Joseph had his best game as a Scarlet Knight, and collected 7 tackles, .5 sacks and .5 TFL
- Lumor also had his best game, in place of Turay, and contributed 6 tackles, 1 sack, 1 TFL
- After getting dominated by Roshan Gary, Kamaal Seymour also played terrific, as did the rest of the OL. Maietti getting better every game and looks like he belongs. OL gave up 0 sacks
- Offensive MVP has to go to Gus Edwards, who had 109 rushing yards, and provided the final margin with a 23 yard TD reception. He has 630 rushing yards for the season, and needs 370 to break 1,000 yards, which would be tremendous. He is on pace to be the offensive MVP for the season
- Jerome Washington led all Rutgers receivers with 3 catches for 57 yards. The two Miami transfers account for the majority of our offense this season
- Maryland won time of possession by a little: 31:06 to 28:54, and held the ball for 9:02 of the 4th quarter, yet didn’t score in the 4th. I attribute this to the improved S&C of the defense
- Good to see #14, Wormley, out there, who is going to be the next Carroo
- Though he’s got room to grow, Gio did enough good things with his arm and feet to bring home the victory.
- Damon Hayes has seamlessly filled in for Blessaun Austin, and had a couple of pass breakups
- After muffing his punt and recovering his own fumble, Hunter Hayek recovered to field subsequent punts without issue, giving the Rutgers offense terrific field position
- Trevor Morris had 12 tackles, .5 sacks, .5 tfl. Deonte Roberts had 9 tackles
- Jawuan Harris’ tackling getting better every game. He had a key stop, in the open field, during Maryland’s last possession, which held the Maryland runner to minimal gain. Had 6 tackles
- Robert Martin had a number of terrific runs, and ended with 69 rushing yards
- Best Rutgers Stadium atmosphere since 2014 Penn State. Having Maryland’s band there added to the vitality of the atmosphere
- I got the last rainbow dipping dots, so I knew it was going to be a good day

In all seriousness this is a pretty solid summation. Shows the character of this team. The next in line stepped up. The guys that have struggled do not let it impact their next play or next game.
This team is mentally tough.

Did you notice Joseph had his best game when he had the club removed and had full use of both hands?

What was the deal with his hand? Broken during practice?
Not sure but this was the first game he was getting off blocks. Prior games he would take the double team but stay blocked. This game he was able to be more physical and active. Kid has a lot of heart.
