As much as I like Eddie, this season is the equivalent of going 1-11 or 2-10 in football with the only wins over the FCS team and a low level FBS team. If Eddie can't turn it around for 2 wins the remainder of the season I think we need to remove him as head coach of this team. I understand we have players out for injuries and other reasons but he has lost this team as they are playing a bit uninspired. We are on a 15 game losing streak. We do have Illinois and Minnesota left on the schedule plus 1 B10 tourney game that can be winnable. If we lose the rest then we will be riding a 19 game losing streak.

If we are on a 19 game losing streak I would suggest:
- relieving Eddie of HC duties
- hire a younger coach that can inspire and motivate players (ie. one of the Hurley's, Nate James of Duke, Baker Dunleavy of Villanova, King Rice of Monmouth, Bino Ranson / Dustin Clark of Maryland, Dane Fife / Dwayne Stephens of Mich St, or other similar coaches.
- keep Eddie in the Rutgers family as an asst AD, adjunct professor, or some other kind of role where he can use his Rutgers connections and overall sports knowledge to help Rutgers going forward

If Hobbs makes a break with Eddie let's make it a clean break and let Eddie ride off into the sunset with his severance package.

I don't recall anyone asking to keep Craig Littlepaige onboard after he was fired.

Eddie is way different from Littlepaige. Eddie's an RU legend, and rightfully so. If there's a role for him in the department, and he wants it, he should get it. That said, I'd doubt he'd want it.

After the past 3 seasons as HC it can be argued that Eddie is no longer an RU legend among many RU fans. Infamous without a doubt but not sure about being a legend.

How many in our fan base have ever seen Eddie as a player ?

Eddie makes Fred Hill look like a good HC by comparison. He epitomizes a losing MBB coach. He needs to go away, the sooner the better.

Stop with this King Rice. He has a checkered past. He went into the stands after fans. He choked his GF while at UNC. Rutgers doesnt need another hothead at the helm.

Please, NO!

Agree that EJ will always be a legend at RU and deserves continued respect from the school.

But as a HC, EJ = Littlepage.
Littlepage inherited at team that won 53% of its game in the year before he arrived. By year 3, Littlepage won 24% - minus 29% over 3 years
EJ inherited a team that won 48% of its game the year before he arrived. By year 3, EJ will likely win 19% - minus 29% over 3 years
Littlepage and EJ are equivalent disasters as HC. It's like trying to determine if the Titanic or Lusitania was the worst shipwreck

When the season is over, we will forever debate which was worse - 0-11 in 1997 or 0-19 in 2016.
