N.J. wrestling great Andrew Campolattano ends brief Rutgers career

Campy is doing well academically and socially and will graduate from RU. He was not into it so it was good he left now rather than string them along. We all wish him well. Hayden is a great kid too. He will voer the spot well.

Some kids just burn out on the sport. It's a grueling day in and day out grind. A friend of mine in college former state champ just burned out. He still AA at 7th place but his heart just wasn't into it anymore. This kid had the talent to challenge for a national championship. He stuck it out because of friends and family pressure, when it was over he was relieved. When you start in the second grade like we did your talking about wrestling for almost 12 years when you hit college. It starts out as fun than becomes competitive real fast and that grind starts.

It is a fine line between encouraging your kids and pressuring them. My youngest son is probably a D1 Lax defenseman and my daughter is probably D2 in volleyball. Both said they don't want to play in college. I would have killed to have their talent but I needed to let them live their lives and the sport isn't what they live for. Good luck to the young man!

They either do it or they do not. They are d1 or d2. There is no probably. You could have been a navy seal but you were not.

Isn't this the guy that committed to RU football then signed with another school for wrestling?
