Najee Clayton Update?

Seems like his 'handlers' talked him into quitting over being 2nd on the depth chart behind Greg Jones.

He (they) chose Flight over Fight. Probably some Paramus Catholic interference mixed in.

"At the end of the day, (Jones) is my brother before he is anything else," Clayton told NJ Advance Media on Monday. "I support him when he's in there. He supports me when I'm in there. It definitely was a wake-up call, but at the end of the day we all go through hard things if we play football and this is one of them. I have to keep moving on".

He still would have seen playing of playing time, the team sure needed him.

Not really the best way to support your supposed "brothers".

Are we jumping to conclusions here?

Abro, there are no handlers and he didn't leave because of the depth chart. Take my word for it.

Sometimes 1+1 doesn't equal 2.

The kid wasn't happy and really that's it.

Well , Najee Clayton better get used to life's disappointments because there are many bumps along the road he travels...if it's a personal issue we all understand and sympathize totally... the vibe out there is it's an issue of being passed on the Rutgers 2 deep b y another player...I hope Clayton does return since he was a big part of the future .

You should be careful with these type of posts unless you truly have inside info.

Too bad, Clayton would plenty a significant role this year and bigger next year .

Since I don't know why Najee left, I'll not comment about his leaving except wish him the best.
Until the reason why he left is known, can't say he was wrong to do so and maybe giving him the benefit of doubt would be the right thing to do.
Agreed. And unfounded suspicions offered by some are not needed.

regardless of why, you have to be impressed with Jones. He has been playing well so far and just goes to show you there are kids out there who can play if given the chance.

Sounds like he earned his chance to get on the field.

I don't believe that for a second. The kid got passed and he suddenly leaves. We've all seen that many, many times before.
And when exactly does 1+1 not equal 2 ?
