Name the states where state pride drives kids to stay home

Ohio 8 of top 25<<<<<<<<< only 32% stay home

This has a lot more to do with scholarship limits than anything else. When Ohio kids go elsewhere, 95% of the time it's because Ohio State didn't have room for them. Michigan State has reaped the benefits of this most recently

That is BS., I am sure he lost plenty of recruiting battles to Texas and a&m

Well Switzer said it - so yeah it could be BS - but in his prime, kids from all states would play for him -

Barry Switzer, who coached the Dallas Cowboys and Oklahoma’s football team, knows both states as well as anyone. He spent decades recruiting players from throughout Oklahoma and Texas.

“If neither school had a football program they were proud of, then there wouldn’t be what we call a rivalry between the two states,” he said.

Switzer said he never encountered a Texas player unwilling to suit up for football in Oklahoma, just because it was Oklahoma. Of course, during Switzer’s era, the Sooners were one of the nation’s top teams and often pursuing a national championship.

But he also acknowledged that Oklahoma did seem to take the rivalry more seriously. Texas is stocked with Oklahoma graduates who moved out-of-state to start their careers.
