Season starts tonight!!!
Some key storylines:
Unfornatuely, none of the local players made NBA rosters.
Some key storylines:
- Can Denver go back to back?
- Will Jokic win another MVP after losing it to Embiid last season?
- New look Bucks (Dame and resigned Giannis) bounce back from a 1st round exit?
- How long until Harden officially quits on a 3rd team? Has it already happened?
- Will the new low profile Nets be the surprise of the league?
- Can a healthy Ben Simmons get back to being a DPOY caliber player? (I'm placing a bunch of bets on it. DOPY, Assists Leader, All-NBA, Nets Wins - Over)
- Will Xfinity and MSG ever stop fighting and let me watch the Knicks again?
Unfornatuely, none of the local players made NBA rosters.
- Ron Harper Jr. signed another Two-Way contract with the Toronto Raptors and will play for their G-League affiliate again.
- Caleb McConnell will likely play in the G-League for the Oklahoma City Thunder affiliate. He didn't get a coveted Two-Way contract.
- That Princeton kid, Tosan Evbuomwan, that everyone was so enamored with will also be in the G-League (Detroit Pistons affiliate)it looks like after going undrafted and not getting a Two-Way contract. Once again, NBA evaluations by CBB fans remains top notch.
Warriors assistant coach recently died at age 46 , heart related. Much too young. , way too common unfortunately . Horrible news.
One of the craziest stories of the year so far.
I'm not sure anybody thought trading for Harden was a good idea.
But it's worked out so far.
I was sad to see RJ (& IQ) go....but gotta admit I love OG so far. 7-2 since the trade.
So that's what is happening in the NBA right now? This Clippers are really good?

Paul George has played 38 of 40 games.
Kawhi Leonard has played 36 of 40 games.
James Harden has played 35 of 40 games.
The story was always "if the Clippers could stay healthy but they never do".

First I'm hearing this, but was this a good trade for Knicks?
Pure numbers it looks like a land slide in favor of the Raptors.
Though it sounds like OG can play D.
I'm assuming some salary cap considerations?
IQ in contract year - Knicks offered over $20m per that he rejected.
RJ is ball dominant and did not fit well with Randle, also has struggles on D and at the 3 point line
OG is an elite defender (all 5 positions) and fits what coach Thibs wants to do.
Knicks are 8-2 since the trade even without Mitch Robinson who is also an elite rim protector.
Was super concerned when Robinson went down but Hartenstein has been flat out awesome.
Getting a bit dicey with I-Hart out....but still managed to dispatch the Nets last night.
Could be one of those trades that works out for both teams. In theory when a trade is proposed it should benefit both teams. If a team is in total sell off mode or a guy is trying to force his way out, the equation changes.
Sims looked good last night though. Still concerned about the injuries at center.
The ball bounced on the line before the Randle fastbreak dunk when the game was tied with 1min left.
Should have been Nets ball.
Refs screwed the Nets.
It did look like it was out when I was watching it. That whole sequence was one of the crazier things I’ve seen.
Also it’s got to be incredibly demoralizing to hear the crowd erupt like that when the visiting team scores a go ahead bucket with a minute left in the game.
Could be, hard for me to tell as I didn't see the close camera angle. Either way, refs seem to make lots of mistakes these days, especially in football & basketball.

Portland lost to the Heat by 60!
But it's probably an outlier. Plus/Minus is a really a team stat since it depends on who is on the court with you. I'm sure Henderson didn't personally give up 58 extra point.
Oh wait, he also had a -56 as well in January.
