With so many kids verbally committing prior to their senior year, it seems absurd to me that "official offers" cant be made prior to August 1 prior to starting their senior year. At that time 75% or more of spots are already filled. Add on to that, the fact that kids can't make official visits until the fall, seems ridiculous to me.

- I would like to see official offers to be extended starting the day after the prior LOI day in February. Let the kids have time to evaluate offers that are valid and not depend on a bunch of possibly fictional verbal offers to guide their college decision.
- Start official visits much earlier. If most kids are going to be deciding on a school before the beginning of their Senior year of classes, allow them to take official visits in the summer so they can make a better educated decision.
- Have a mini-signing period on August 1st for up to 10 signings total (no playing with the number by manipulating January enrollees.
- Offer 5 years of eligibility regardless of whether you play your freshman year or not. Eliminate all possible 6th year eligibility. 5 years across the board for everyone.
