31 on roster. Not sure how many are seniors. Add in commits and they need to get to 28. Not a lot Of room for transfers.Final 2-1 UConn. Disappointing season really. The highlight of course beating USC in the BIG semis.
Signed a lot of players for next year with 2 from NC, 2 from Oregon and the rest from NJ. Hope they grab a couple from the portal that can score.
Losing Daigle, Girman, Tiernan, Mason, Banks, Urban, + Cammie and Arden. Signed eight frosh, at least 4-5 of which will likely see immediate time. Offense will be MUCH more fluid.31 on roster. Not sure how many are seniors. Add in commits and they need to get to 28. Not a lot Of room for transfers.
How long have you been watching soccer? It's unfortunate it was caught on VAR but she's gonna be playing pro ball soon. Big time player.Disappointing ending to Tiernan’s career. Last 3 games: thrown out, suspension, suspension. No one to blame but herself.
Not sure how long I’ve been watching soccer. In fact I’ve coached soccer. Does change the fact of a disappointing ending to her career which was self inflicted. How long have you been watching soccer? It's unfortunate it was caught on VAR but she's gonna be playing pro ball soon. Big time player.
Why did Tiernan get the 2nd suspension?Disappointing ending to Tiernan’s career. Last 3 games: thrown out, suspension, suspension. No one to blame but herself.
She stomped on a girl in the BIG 10 tournament game vs USC. She also has a reputation as she was suspended during the regular season for fighting. Why did Tiernan get the 2nd suspension?
2 game suspension for a red card due to fighting. 1 game suspension due to red card for rough play. Why did Tiernan get the 2nd suspension?
"unfortunate???" lol...she could murder someone and that would be your response. How long have you been watching soccer? It's unfortunate it was caught on VAR but she's gonna be playing pro ball soon. Big time player.
1st suspension was an accumulation of yellows (5) during the regular season.2 game suspension for a red card due to fighting. 1 game suspension due to red card for rough play.
She already served that suspension. This was a 2 game suspension for fighting from usc game.1st suspension was an accumulation of yellows (5) during the regular season.
Well aware of that...apologies though as I misunderstood your post when I initially "red" it (couldn't resist....).She already served that suspension. This was a 2 game suspension for fighting from usc game.
Who cares about the suspension the fact is this is 3 straight mediocre years with no offense and one and out in the NCAA’sWell aware of that...apologies though as I misunderstood your post when I initially "red" it (couldn't resist....).
There's only 1 person here "happy" with this and it surely isn't me.Who cares about the suspension the fact is this is 3 straight mediocre years with no offense and one and out in the NCAA’s
And trust me just making the NCAA’s is mediocre
Again we have some good young players but there’s no way you are replacing Banks and Mason with someone who’s as good as them so most likely our defense takes a step back and as we have seen we don’t have any dynamic offensive players and we were hard pressed to score 2 goals in matches so not sure how we improve next year.
So if everyone is happy with this mediocrity the last 3 years then ok for you but I want a team that is competing for championships and I am talking NCAA
Sorry but this is an absurd take. I think we can do both. As long as we are respectful and not rude about things I think it's perfectly fine to criticize these players. Especially now that they are getting money. I know women soccer doesn't get a lot of money ... but still. It's funny to see grown men complain about a player that gave their all to Rutgers when they literally could've played anywhere in the country. Things happen. We should be celebrating our Scarlet Knights and not putting them down, especially a player that had an amazing career On The Banks like Riley did.
Be better Rutgers fans.
I’ve been defending her play all year. This was indefensible. Her actions took her out of the 3 biggest games of the year and let her team down. Kudos to the team for the win vs usc playing a man down. It's funny to see grown men complain about a player that gave their all to Rutgers when they literally could've played anywhere in the country. Very well put. Agree on all counts. Also a senior leader (captain?) just can't let her team down as such, with intent, during the post-season. To think she shouldn't be held accountable by her teammates, coaches or fans, is absurd (especially in the NIL world of today) SO LONG - as you note - it's done so respectfully (and I don't see it being done so otherwise....).Sorry but this is an absurd take. With that said I agree with the poster who said that Bradley is going to be the future face of this program. After watching her for 5 minutes I texted everyone I knew who follows this team to say that we've got a really good one.
We really need to hope that Mike continues expanding his recruiting outside of pda. Very disappointed in the fitness of many of these PDA girls. It's simply unacceptable. Several of the younger ones have very good technical ability so I hope they work hard on this in the offseason.
As I have posted many times this year I think there is a lot to like about the future of this program. But let's not sugarcoat things. Head coach Mike O'Neill needs to improve. He often gets out coached during the games and really needs to put an emphasis on passing accuracy and doing the little things right in games. He can't always rely on having more talent to win games. That's the lazy way IMHO.
If you asked me one year ago I would say that I am not a fan but I think he did enough positive things this year that I do get the sense he is willing to change
I tip my cap to the ladies this year (and MO). Getting to the Big Ten finals was a huge accomplishment. Very unfortunate to go out like this in the first round but I don't want to repeat some of the things from above.
Looking forward to next year!
Yes it was a great accomplishment to get to the Big Ten championship game but we have been knocked out in the first round of the NCAA tournament the last 3 years and as I said above that’s no acceptable and we are mired in mediocrity and we have 2 replace 2 defensive stalwarts in Banks and Mason which will be no easy task and this is all on MONSorry but this is an absurd take.
