NCAA Tournament: Rutgers Women's Soccer vs. UConn -- Sat., Nov. 16 at 5 p.m. at Yurcak Field

Ooof. Women’s soccer is a tough watch. Turnover in the middle of the field and the UConn girl just goes down and scores. That’s like grade school stuff

Wind has not been kind. Wishing we could have held 0-0 but no go.

Gotta chase 2 goals now. Almist had 2 against the wind.

Final 2-1 UConn. Disappointing season really. The highlight of course beating USC in the BIG semis.

Signed a lot of players for next year with 2 from NC, 2 from Oregon and the rest from NJ. Hope they grab a couple from the portal that can score.

Disappointing end but really fun to follow along this season. Lots to look forward to with these young guns!

31 on roster. Not sure how many are seniors. Add in commits and they need to get to 28. Not a lot Of room for transfers.

Losing Daigle, Girman, Tiernan, Mason, Banks, Urban, + Cammie and Arden. Signed eight frosh, at least 4-5 of which will likely see immediate time. Offense will be MUCH more fluid.

As there’s no WSOC futures betting, I’ll settle with a post here saying Shaela will be All-B1G next year. Next face of the program.

Was at the game last night. UConn was definetly the better team. #10 was a problem every time she got the ball.

They had 10 CK to 1 for RU.

As soon as they scored the second goal they dropped 4 to defense stiffling our offense.

Really missed Tiernan she would have made a difference for Rutgers.

Another flop in the first and at home. Damn shame for the seniors who played their last game that their teammate let them down as such because she likely could've been the difference yesterday.

BEST OF LUCK AND "THANK YOU" TO THE SENIORS!!!

Well aware of that...apologies though as I misunderstood your post when I initially "red" it (couldn't resist....).
Who cares about the suspension the fact is this is 3 straight mediocre years with no offense and one and out in the NCAA’s
And trust me just making the NCAA’s is mediocre
Again we have some good young players but there’s no way you are replacing Banks and Mason with someone who’s as good as them so most likely our defense takes a step back and as we have seen we don’t have any dynamic offensive players and we were hard pressed to score 2 goals in matches so not sure how we improve next year.
So if everyone is happy with this mediocrity the last 3 years then ok for you but I want a team that is competing for championships and I am talking NCAA

There's only 1 person here "happy" with this and it surely isn't me.

It's funny to see grown men complain about a player that gave their all to Rutgers when they literally could've played anywhere in the country. Things happen. We should be celebrating our Scarlet Knights and not putting them down, especially a player that had an amazing career On The Banks like Riley did.

Be better Rutgers fans.

Sorry but this is an absurd take. I think we can do both. As long as we are respectful and not rude about things I think it's perfectly fine to criticize these players. Especially now that they are getting money. I know women soccer doesn't get a lot of money ... but still.

With that said I agree with the poster who said that Bradley is going to be the future face of this program. After watching her for 5 minutes I texted everyone I knew who follows this team to say that we've got a really good one.

We really need to hope that Mike continues expanding his recruiting outside of pda. Very disappointed in the fitness of many of these PDA girls. It's simply unacceptable. Several of the younger ones have very good technical ability so I hope they work hard on this in the offseason.

As I have posted many times this year I think there is a lot to like about the future of this program. But let's not sugarcoat things. Head coach Mike O'Neill needs to improve. He often gets out coached during the games and really needs to put an emphasis on passing accuracy and doing the little things right in games. He can't always rely on having more talent to win games. That's the lazy way IMHO.

If you asked me one year ago I would say that I am not a fan but I think he did enough positive things this year that I do get the sense he is willing to change

I tip my cap to the ladies this year (and MO). Getting to the Big Ten finals was a huge accomplishment. Very unfortunate to go out like this in the first round but I don't want to repeat some of the things from above.

Looking forward to next year!

I’ve been defending her play all year. This was indefensible. Her actions took her out of the 3 biggest games of the year and let her team down. Kudos to the team for the win vs usc playing a man down.

Very well put. Agree on all counts. Also a senior leader (captain?) just can't let her team down as such, with intent, during the post-season. To think she shouldn't be held accountable by her teammates, coaches or fans, is absurd (especially in the NIL world of today) SO LONG - as you note - it's done so respectfully (and I don't see it being done so otherwise....).

Yes it was a great accomplishment to get to the Big Ten championship game but we have been knocked out in the first round of the NCAA tournament the last 3 years and as I said above that’s no acceptable and we are mired in mediocrity and we have 2 replace 2 defensive stalwarts in Banks and Mason which will be no easy task and this is all on MON
