Noticed that RU did not have anyone scheduled to compete. Wanted to see Brown run ... not sure if hurt or didn’t qualify.

Saw he needed to be Top 16 and ran 24th fastest time ... always the spring!!!!

I don;t know if Brown is injured but he did run in 2 events at the BIG Ten championship.
His winning time was almost a full second slower that last year and did not run away from all the competition winning by .03 seconds. His winning time in 2017 would have been the third fastest in the NCAA this season. Noting that he was not in a position to qualify, I was surprised he did not run in the IC4As to try to qualify. He needed to improve his best time this season by about .3 seconds which he did his first two seasons.

I suspect Coach Mulqueen is bringing Brown along more slowly this year. Brown's history of breaking down and getting injured late in the season the past two years justifies his limited racing this year, thus his times are a bit behind past years. Outdoor NCAAs are more important than indoors; my guess is they're limiting his wear and tear with the end-game being outdoors.

The end game should be to qualify for and then compete successfully at both NCAA Indoors & NCAA Outdoors. Not winning as many meets as you can before NCAA Indoors or NCAA Outdoors and then breaking down.

It will be interesting to see what happens in the spring with Brown and Jermaine Griffith.
Both have run sub 46 second 400 meters. Griffith did AA last year indoors in the 400.
He RSed last spring and ran only 1 race (a relay) this indoor season. I would think that both have something to prove this spring.
I don't know what to expect for Brown. On one hand, he has run fast enough to have a shot at winning a national title. On the other hand, through 5 seasons, he has only run 1 race at an NCAA regional that was a disappointing result and scratched in two indoor nationals.

There is a 3rd 400M runner on the team (took 2nd in IC4A) and a 4th runner who won the 500M at the IC4A. Shaping up to have an excellent 4x4 in the spring if healthy!!!!!

Burgess and Madeus are freshmen who should be very good. Madeus will be running the 400 IM hurdles as a primary event.

Oh he’ll be on that AA 4x4 squad ... assuming the guys are healthy.
