***New Jersey 2016 S Phil Campbell commits to Rutgers***

West Virginia seems to be having a hard time recruiting the area now, of course that's awesome for us. Obviously the Big 12 move has cost them in some ways, probably not financially. Still I'd love to see them back as conference opponents. Them and Pitt. Those 2 with Penn State would make for a nice regional rivalry in the Big Ten. Would certainly bridge the gap.

Now THIS KID IS A BIG10 SAFETY! I love how athletic he is. His HS coach obviously recognized his athleticism because he had Phil splitting time at RB in HS. And while this is impressive in itself, what makes it really special is the fact that the other RB on his team ALSO IS A D1 PLAYER who has multiple Power5 offers as well... Dontae Strickland or something Strickland is the other RB who played at South Brunswick with Phil.
And anyway so on top of that, the BEST quality about this kid is that HE CAN LAY THE BOOM! In his video you can tell he comes up and lays some wood on people and that is what you need in the BIG10. Safeties must take pride in their hitting ability if they are going to play college football in the best division in the best conference IN THE WOLRD! Phil Campbell definitely fits that mold. Add in the fact that if he either intercepts/picks up a fumble.... he has that RB background so he has that GAMEBREAKING potential to take it all the way for the touchdown. With the division being so stacked like it is, it will be players who can make those SPECIAL plays that will be the difference between winning and losing in this hyper competitive conference.
Congrats to Phil and Flood and whoever recruited Phil for bringing in a big hitting safety who seems like the kind of kid that will succeed in a big way! I already am imagining him coming up and just DESTROYING Ohio State 5-star receivers who think they can come across the middle and not pay the price! Oh and then afterwards, he "scoop and scores" the fumble he created with a mix of speed, breaking a tackle, and a sweet juke move to earn himself the SportCenter #1 play in front of the most raucous/electric 53000 fans in the country!

Phil Campbell is a 4-star Strong Safety prospect from New Jersey if I ever saw one. Many schools didn't even try to recruit him, because, of his Rutgers ties.
There aren't many Strong Safety prospects in the country that Rutgers would rather have than Phil Campbell.
