Bill/Josh/anybody have a clue what the plan is next year at heavyweight to replace Billy?

Are they going to force one of our guys up like Correnti or the Monmouth kid? Go with this year's backup? Recruit somebody?

Correnti will not be forced up, he is a College Hwt(I would still Red shirt him next season to put on a little more weight and get used to the college grind). Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet on a weight class, HWT will be a big hole in the lineup(unless Correnti does not redshirt).

Obviously by "forced up" ... I meant he's at 220 right now and would have to put on a good 30 pounds the next few years to be more competitive (in my mind).

PA HS Senior Jake Beistel is ranked and uncommitted. I'm sure we have peaked under the hood but his bio looks interesting. $$$$

I thought we had a transfer looking to come in at Heavyweight (remember hearing it mentioned). I wouldn't sacrifice Correnti just for the sake of Duals. Let him redshirt and get stronger before facing a beast like Coon.

Committed to play football at Saint Francis University.
Thanks for update. I just noticed that Chokonis verballed to Bucknell. Rutgers and North Carolina were in the mix. $$$$

Correnti will be a special wrestler! I wonder if he'll be able to cut down to 197 or wrestle as a heavy.

Mulligan will be every bit as special and he is at 197 as well. Those two are going to huge recruits when it is all said and done.

I may be mistaken but I don't think Correnti will ever see 197 lbs in his life again. Hell as a freshman he was wrestling 182 lbs. This kid has heavyweight written all over him. Redshirt him let him bulk up take the hit at heavyweight for a year and then sic him on them.

How tall is Correnti? Does he have a frame that will accommodate a significant weight increase pretty easily?

Well he's listed at 6'3" so yea he's got the frame. I think he used to cut a little after football to make 220. I could easily see him coming in at 240 lbs after a redshirt year.

Bill,I'd like too see you and Scarlet Knut get out there and show them the new 20 is 70..lol.

This is what makes heavyweight so hard to recruit. Your top heavyweights will often pick football over wrestling. Add in the 9.9 scholarship limit and the kids is likely to get more money for school at a smaller football school then even going to major wrestling program.
