I think people who are worried Ash won't be able to recruit NJ need to only look back a few years to see that the decline occurred before he got here.
NJ recruits by year: 2008 (9), 2009 (10), 2010 (9), 2011 (13), 2012 (12), 2013 (10), 2014 (7), 2015 (5). There were 2 players in 2014 that didn't qualify so RU really only got 5 that year as well. Did KF decide to look outside of NJ when Rutgers joined the B1G as opposed to sticking with NJ players, many of whom ended up at Temple? I don't know but it is clear KF, for whatever reason, went out of the state for players.
As of now, seems Ash and his staff are evaluating and going after NJ players.
