No. 6 seed Rutgers Lacrosse will face No. 7 seed Cornell on Saturday in the Final Four

Thought top seed always plays the 2nd game.
I'm pretty sure nowadays the network televising the event gets to choose. In this year's hoops Final Four, Kansas was the only number one seed to make it. But CBS wanted Duke-Carolina as the second game

Yeah TV will dictate the time slots. Maryland will be the highest drawing team left so they'll get the 2:30 game. I think the Final Four should be later in the day though...like a 4 pm and a 6:30 or 7 pm instead.

With the turnaround being less than 48 hours (final is Monday at 1:00pm), I would think the #1 seed would get the benefit of playing the earlier semifinal game. Those extra few hours can make a difference in recovery and rehydration.

It will be high drama with the brothers facing each other with the winner getting the opportunity to play for a national championship.Winning the faceoff battle will be extremally important to team success.

Rut roh!!!

The faceoff battle is always important. But let’s face it. This team has figured out ways to manufacture possessions.

We need to continue clearing well and causing turnovers and making saves.

three ways to get the ball, win FOs create turnovers and make saves we have been doing 2 and 3 well so 1 becomes slightly less important however, this face-off match-up is not bad for us as the Cornell guy is not dominated by any stretch and he got worked by the UPenn guy when they played so I see this match-up as neutral and something we can certainly win. I think the key to this will be wing play, but wing face-offs allows us to set the tempo and push the pace even more than we did last week.

This Rutgers team has had the ability to adapt in instances where the Face offs werent going well. There are ways to overcome that

Great kid. As are all of them. As an alum, I am obviously happy with what I see on the field but I am even more proud to have these kids represent the school and the program they way they do off of it. It's a large part of supporting the program and why it is so easy to do. Outside of it being our responsibility, the kids so very much deserve it.

In addition to the Kirst storyline this weekend, per Inside Lacrosse, Cornell lacrosse coach’s dad played football at RU and he was an RU fan growing up.
