That leaves us...or no one?

Richmond Times dispatch says:
"...the Cavaliers quickly refocus their search. Potential targets include Jeff Brohm of Western Kentucky, Troy Calhoun of Air Force, Ken Niumatalolo of Navy and Oklahoma offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley."

Still a possibility he lands at RU, I feel...

Refocus from Richt I assume. That is a strange list with two service academy HCs on there. Not sure this board would be too happy with that pool. But then again this board is all over the place with candidates. I don't see a consensus forming around anyone looking realistic b

GS name is not attached at all to UVA, only people here assumed he would be attached for some odd reason.

I wouldn't mind Jeff Brohm. Risky, but could be a really good hire.

I tend to think both RU and UVA are still trying to pry Mullen, and we may be trying to convince Schiano as well (it's unclear to me at this point which side has no interest). If we are unsuccessful, it will be one of the other guys, who will all take the job if offered.

UVA is in the same boat. They were trying to make a splash with this hire, but have seemingly failed.

Schiano would be perfect for UVA in my opinion. He could grab recruits from the local area along with some from Florida and NJ. And he's got experience keeping a high APR and no scandals.

I wouldn't be surprised if his agent gets him an interview there if he wants. So far, it looks like he's sticking to interviews in warmer areas though.

I still think the best move for him is to go to a place like UVA that prides itself on academics and hasn't had much success in football in recent years. Start fresh without the legacy (good for some, bad for others) that he's had at Rutgers. Just look at how many threads people start about him here -- more negative than positive threads. RU fans that didn't like him seem to go out of their way to let people know they didn't like him. If that was you, wouldn't you prefer going somewhere else?

I agree. He checks off a lot of boxes that would matter at UVa, and while he's no threat to win anything big, he'd probably win enough to keep them happy there. It's not that demanding an audience.

Schiano is going to wait to long and end up unemployed for another year.

People here assume this because on this Board, EVERY possible contender, no matter how far-fetched or a potentially horrible fit, or no matter how distant a connection to RU or the Northeast, is put forward as THE solution to RU's problems.

Just like if ANY player in the entire country might be leaving their college and transferring to another college, someone on THIS Board suggest that the RU coaches pursue said player.

I guess GS may have a rep as guy who cleans up programs, not get them over hump.

I'd love to have him back.

It takes a certain personality to fit in at UVA. Greg Schiano isn't about to start wearing a tie.

Schiano's name attached because it is a cush job in a great environment, which recruits heavily in NJ, at a basketball school with little emphasis on football, in a P5 conference, the title of which is there for the taking.

We do not want Schiano at Virginia.

Unless things are happening with him very quietly, seems Greg is not interested
