Noah Brown - Jersey guy

Who? Whoever he is, he ain't from these parts any longer

We're just splitting hairs here no need to get into it. I just don't really like kids who decide to leave if they could have played at RU. They should be forgotten in my opinion - until we play them. But I get that some folks have "NJ Pride". I don't.

Lives in Ohio, makes Ohio people happy on Saturdays, will be looking to dismantle Rutgers in a few weeks, yeah, he's definitely an Ohio guy. I'm sure the whole state is thrilled with their new son this morning, that was a great catch.....for the state of Ohio.

From a perception standpoint, I can understand the sentiments expressed in this thread. I can personally attest that if an Ohio blue-chipper (with the possible exception of the extreme northwest portion of the state) chooses to attend Michigan, he is considered somewhat of a traitor. Can't directly speak to other "football states" but I assume it is the same. If that perception somehow became prevalent in NJ, it would certainly help recruiting.

That's perception. The reality is that neither Noah Brown nor any NJ kid owes Rutgers a damn thing. No more so than any other NJ student who chooses to attend college elsewhere.

He'll always be a Jersey guy.

But he ain't reppin Jersey.

He's reppin the names on the front and back of his jersey.

By the idiotic logic in this thread, does Rutgers owe it to every single NJ high school football player to offer them a scholarship? I think RU should be loyal to all NJ kids, scholarship limits be damned.

You are correct he doesn't owe NJ or Rutgers a damn thing. He is free to embrace a new state and college. He is not a NJ guy. He's an Ohio guy. Rooting for him because he is "from NJ" is akin, in my mind, to a jilted lover pining away for their lost love. Move on.

He was injured last year and is trying to make up for lost time. Not really that good. Probably 4 or 5 on our depth chart or a situation player. However, can really catch the ball with people drapped all over him. Oh wait, those are the type passes we throw, so maybe........

This whole thing is one of the all time dumbest things perpetuated on here. He's a Jersey kid who happens to go to OSU. He picked the situation that was best for himself not a bunch of posters on a message board.

He's from Mt Olive and Pope John. I'll pull for him for those reasons 11 of 12 weeks a season.

So you're saying that Janarion Grant is not a Florida guy?
Not any more. He lives and works in NJ.Next step he becomes an Honorary Jerseyan by Gubernatorial Decree. If that doesn't happen I will give him my Jersey papers since I have been a Floridian for 28+ years. The old SWITCHEROO!!

So why do so many of them tell stories of "hate" about Rutgers and NJ?

add Jamari Bogan RBwho tore up Illini yesterday for PJ Fleck and Western Michigan(Union High) and PJ Walker who would have been light years better then Laviano and is a mobile spread type QB (ELIZABETH nj)at Temple, both who Flood told no thanks to.

He could have been Zack Heeman's Mount Olive HS football (and basketball) teammate if he had a scintilla of community pride. BTW, is Brown related to former Giants player Lee Rouson (whose wife graduated from Rutgers), who lives in Mt. Olive?

I guess you're right. My son grew up in MO and attended PJ. Never heard him say "I'm reppin Flanders" once after a basketball game or track meet up in Sparta.

Darn these kids.

Where your kids go to school is a family choice. Good for your son.
BTW, many years ago, a Mt. Olive guy (David Budd) who played his high school ball at West Morris HS for Pete Picirillo when Mt. Olive HS did not exist, was a punter at Ohio State.

All I know about Lee is he's a minister and his son was in my daughter's class. There was another MO kid at the same time. Son of a former NY Jet Bruce Harper. He also went to PJ where he broke all their rushing records, then Temple. I had heard he was really high on RU but it was one sided. He and the younger Rouson would have made a heck of a 1-2 RB combination for MOHS.

Due to Rouson's situation he has to cheer for both Rutgers (wife) and Colorado (he played there) like me.:joy:
