Finkenstadt caravan to Phoenix!

As fast and easy as that drive down was, including snow from Metuchen to DC, the ride back was equally as long and freaking awful! Was talking to Eric about it at the basketball game last week how we managed to stop for fast food twice - Wendy’s in Arby’s IIRC - between Orlando and Jacksonville It took us so long lol!!!
That traffic on the way back sucked - the drive back was much more of a blur to me than the way down.

Not even a question it can be done in under 48-hours with multiple drivers only stopping for food/gas/etc. NONE. 2400 miles @ 70 MPH average (which is low) is ONLY 34 hours of ACTUAL driving time.
Easy and the 2400 miles can be split into about two equal segments, with the first half mostly at an average of 80 mph (speed limits 65-70) and the 2nd half at an average of 90 mph where speed limits are mostly 75-80 mph, which translates into 28.4 hours of driving time. Add in 5 stops for gas and fast food and bio breaks (~15 min each), that's 30 hours of travel time. Assuming no major traffic problems. You and I could do that no problem. Now I want to go, lol.

Seriously…this is killing me

I’m a lot more experienced with long distance driving now than I was in 2012. I once made it from NJ to Vegas in 36 hours by myself. But we did well driving from New Brunswick to Orlando in 14 hours.

Only the 2nd Schiano bowl I'll be missing (had a family issue for St. Pete) and it's killing me because none of our crew or a related 2nd crew we sometimes hang with 15+ good friends) wanted to go and I didn't want to try to justify going alone to the boss.
Sorry to hear that.. ashame that none of your crew wanted to go. Hope our attendance is better than most of us expected. Next year’s Bowl will hopefully be better logistically and timing wise for RU fans.

I'm not expecting a great turnout due to the date and chatter on the board. Out of about ~15 people I've gone with or seen at bowls from my friend group (typically 4-8 have gone to any specific bowl), 0.0 are going to this one - first time I ever recall a shutout. Best attendance has always been Pinstripe (always 8-10 or more) with Insight and Texas probably next best.

Sitting in Section 217 we looked to have 4 solid Sections of RU fans in the Club Level.
Could not see the levels below us or above us. Judging on the noise from the crowd and the number of KSU fans in the concourses they probably outnumbered us 3:1 with the attendance. Maybe someone saw the crowds better on TV ? The announced attendance was sparse with only 21,400 attending.
