Shill, I wish I were as sure as you are.
With OSU/Mich on at the same time, it will give me a chance to test drive my probable 2016 seats.
I would like for to fire Flood and replace him with a $10MM/year coaching staff. However, I don't think either thing will happen for 2016. And even if Flood is fired, I don't think we'll spend even half that for the replacement staff. Which I will find as depressing as if Flood wasn't even fired. Because I just don't see half-assed getting it done in the Big Ten East.
Go B1G or go home, is pretty much my feeling about the whole thing.
I'm not saying we shouldn't get a new coaching staff even without the $10MM. We should.Where I'll disagree with you is that even if we end up with a $5m budget for all coaches, I still think we need a change. The program is pretty close to rock bottom. It needs a shake up. We're 5 years away from full Big Ten money anyway. We can't sit on Flood for 1-2 years, let alone 5. If we don't have big money now, bring in a hot up-and-comer and give him 3-4 years. Worst case, we're back in the market in a few years, but with a bigger wallet. Best case, we catch lightning in a bottle. I think it's safe to say Flood is not lightning at this point. Sticking with him is like sticking with Laviano.
Obviously, a $10m coaching budget would be my first hope.

Done.I would bet a beer that we spend $5M/year on the full staff.
How much are our competition's coaches and coordinator's making? On a 5 million budget:
2m for the
1m for the DC and OC ($500,000 each)
That leaves us with 2 million for everyone else...
I would feel better at 3 million for everyone else.
looks like we are heading to the five year hiring cycles of coaches we saw at RU prior to Schiano
