Northwestern just knocked off Indiana at Assembly Hall

The lack of consistent scoring from so many B1G Ten teams means lots of upsets even at home.

Long Big Ten history of difficulty winning on the road. That does not change overnight. Rutgers winning at Northwestern is no different. It will take our “A” game.

Rutgers loss at Northwestern last season even though Mulcahy had his best offensive game of his Rutgers career.

One positive about losing today is that we won't take NW lightly.

Team should be focused.

This is a game we should win and quite frankly - after losing 2 home games so far to sub par teams on paper - we need to win !

Northwestern plays our game. 8th in adjusted D efficiency, 162 adjusted O. Similarly slow tempo. They've had some great luck this season. Hopefully it runs out on Wednesday. This is gonna be an absolute grinder.

Northwestern scores over 70 points which is a problem for Rutgers

I watched a good portion of the game when NW was with a double digit lead, but missed the last part where Indiana made their run

NW looked really good..... I would not be super optimistic, unless we play our Ohio state/ Purdue game, not the Seton Hall/Iowa game....

and a large part of that is making the layups/short shots

Missing bunnies is a glaring issue for RU

yes
I would have to re-watch, but I don't remember that being the big problem in the Ohio state game and the Purdue game...

I don't think it is a continual problem, but once it gets started in a game, it is contagious.

What is a continual problem is that Rutgers only averages 65 points a game against B1G Ten teams. There is a very small margin for error and grind out games add additional pressure for the team to win.

We also average over 70 ppg btw and will also not likely be scoring 70 on Wednesday.
Actually we average about 65 points if you take out the cupcakes. Ironically, the last 3 Big games: 65, 64, 65. We need to keep opponents low 60's or under to win.

You don’t take out the cupcakes. You’ve completely missed the point of my post which is that Northwestern’s >70ppg average (which includes cupcakes obviously) doesn’t imply they will score 70 against us

11 point lead for NW with 1:45 left...still 9 points with 46 seconds
