You raise an interesting point but probably are burying the lead a bit - which I think is this dynamic that is seemingly growing of a potentially divided athletic department manifesting into an actually divided fan base of football v basketball supporters; and it seems to be nurtured by the two different boards.
TOS is very clearly continuing to treat football as a priority compared to basketball. Richie and his team clearly prioritizing basketball. There are a bunch of fans of course in the middle supporting both but anecdotally it feels both extremes have a reasonable portion of the fan base (though a minority) captured.
For instance, Richie has said basketball is all that’s worth covering/being excited about, and openly discussed no one respond to an official visit list thread. Meanwhile during our first big official visit weekend Rivals did 3 football articles and some nuggets and TOS pumped out 11 articles and some nuggets. Richie and his team definitely out in front on the podcast game though TOS offers some.
There’s definitely two different products being provided and therefore a benefit to subscribing to both. For those only going on one site or the other you sort of don’t know what you don’t know.
