I believe we will have at least 2 scholarships for next year and possibly more. We have 13 full scholarships and I think Aiden Terry probably is # 13 again this season. We know we will lose Caleb and probably Oskar as I think he will graduate in May. We already have Gavin and now Jamichael as long as he signs in the spring. I would think at least one other could open up if someone doesn't return or if Aiden is not on full scholarship next season. I think Derrick and Jamichael can both make for so much more speed at our guard positions. They could really drive the lane and give more outside looks to others.

Have to continue to recruit like you have open scholarship available. The staff was very intent on adding a big man, missed out on all their primary targets, but im sure will continue to look to add a big just in case Cliff does leave.

Davis is #13

After this year

YOE-1. (3) Mulchay, Hyatt and spenser
YOE-2 (5) Omouyri, Mag, Reiber , Miller, Palmquist
YOE-3 (3) Simpson, wolfolk , chol
YOE-4 (2) Griffths and Davia

That’s 13 scholarships players that can return

Suspect that some open up…..

Mulcahy has already graduated and is taking classes for a Masters Degree. He probably will leave along with possibly Cliff depending on how he performs this season.

I have a gut instinct Paul comes back. Just seems like a guy who loves college basketball and has established himself enough to make some decent NIL money to make it worth it. Hayatt and Spenser are the big question marks. My guess is 1 of them stays and one of them moves on.

Why wouldn't he stay and let Rutgers pay to complete his master's degree? Professional ball isn't calling him away.

I don’t see Pike being the type of coach to be regularly pushing out end of the bench guys until they graduate. There’s no serious need to. However, once they graduate, it is fair game.

Hyatt and Spencer both already transferred and have one more YOE after this one.

Would they really transfer…have to sit out a year…to then play their final (6th year) of college?

Wouldn’t a better bet for them to just stay and try and out play the underclassmen?

Yeah, plus who wants to waste their last year of eligibility as a benchwarmer? Oskar should get his degree then move down a level so he can play as well as get a Master's.

Yeah. One or both will be told to transfer down a level. Oskar is far more likely as he's back of the bench and will graduate in May. Miller might get one more year but he will be on the scholly crunch in 2024 if he doesn't find an offense.
Miller is the third best defender after Caleb and Mag, I don't see him getting pushed out

Jerry Carino article said no current scholarships for next year - with the addition of the GA player; but - of course - that could change;

I was thinking more along the lines of one of them moves on with their life. Really depends on their post basketball aspirations.

Seems too early for this, but Caleb is not back next year and Cliff and Paul could be gone too.
Add in a transfer or two out and we could be seeing a lot of new faces next season.
I'm not saying that is going to happen, but it could.

Mulcahy thinks he will be playing professional basketball. It might be overseas.

He graduated early and started a master's program - imo, stands to reason he'd finish it before looking overseas for a moderate salary. Could be wrong, but I don't think overseas pro teams are going to be beating down his door right now and offering him six figures.
