NYC trip no longer part of OV

Are you serious with this? You way overestimate how "mind blowing" New York is. Honestly I doubt most recruits give a crap.
I do technical training for a major Telecom. Over the years when students fly in, the first thing they ask during breaks is how to get into NYC and what to see. They have no clue that they cannot see, Statue of Liberty, Wall Street, South Street, ESB, Times Square, St Patricks, Rockefeller Center, Central Park, Yankee Stadium ............ in one night. I took a bunch of them once first to Liberty State Park before we drove in and they were amazed looking at the City.

We are spoiled living here our whole lives. NYC to out of towners or someone who has never been there is a must see.

BTW I just saw some posts from tonight and it looks like they are hanging out in the recruiting lounge, fun.

seems to me Coach Ash and his team are starting the OV Weekend off right with a great meal in the recruiting lounge:

Get to Wall Street at 4 PM, walk around for 15 minutes and talk about post-playing career opportunities, take them to Times Square and takes selfies with a Block R being broadcast on a big video billboard, go to the 40/40 Club for 60 minutes of VIP bottle service, hand them the fax number for their commitment letter.

No veggies!!! Fire Ash!!! Wait: there is salad fork. But it should have used before the entree was served and eaten. ??? Then that constitutes poor decision making by this staffer. Got to eat veggies. Always. Bad example. Weak leadership. Yeah. Fire them all, then. Clean the slate. Next man up. Who we got? Golden?

FYI, Mehringer's plate has asparagus.....and B1G biscuits!

Subliminal messages of fresh seafood only being a legit thing here (and Md.), as well as theb prominent branding point of playing in the B1G.

Again, an unused salad fork. And three stalks of asparagus? Seriously? And this is Jersey? Where's the antipasti and then the pasta course? Unbelievable!!!

And THIS is why you don't take a 17 year old (or a guy from the Midwest for that matter) to a fancy steak house. You order a well done steak at Mortens or Peter Lugars and the chef will come out and smack you.

sadly, that is Coach Burnham's plate. Ash tweeted some photos of much better looking (medium rare) beef when it was being carved.

it's a buffet.... all the courses on one plate (mac and cheese IS the pasta course)

I don't think you can pay for steakhouse dinners on these trips fellas.
Rutgers was the only school that didn't take us to a steakhouse. But made up for it with the lobster tail buffet at the Hale Center over looking the field.
I think NYC should be a must see. That is the draw that could make us a national recruiting team.
The ESPN Zone and Lucky Strike were weird destinations to me though.
Right now, go downtown- see Wall Street, World Trade Center, 911 Memorial and then a nice dinner. It would be a trip to never forget and one that many save a lifetime for around this country.
But that's just me...

LOL. I largely dislike bloody meat, but compromise at high-end places by ordering steak/filet medium-well to ensure just a touch of red in the center.. Unless the restaurant is French or my chef friend is also there; then I'll make sure to state well-done, just to piss them off.
