I'm sure the NYC media will just open a tent camp near her home to cover the endless parade of dysfunction in an out of control program.

Some days I wonder if she wishes she stayed in Ville.

She will have a big chance when she hires the coach and we will finally have a head start to make a good pick that will ultimately define her career.

And kudos to her and Barchi for keeping quiet ensuring that Flood can be terminated for cause and saving RU some dough for the next guy.

I doubt he will be terminated for cause . Mike rice wasn't even terminated for cause.

I think there are a lot of quality people with a track record of success that come to RU thinking that they can make an impact and a difference and find themselves saying oh sh#t what have I done.

Julie will have to watch it though that she doesn't go down with Flood. Not her hire and not her fault but if everyones panties get wadded over this she could be a causualty too

I think Julie may go down with the ship...I can just imagine the sh*tstorm with that one.

If JH were to ever go because of this if you think we'd have a hard time finding a coach to come here, I'd say we'd have a harder time finding a quality AD to come here to hire that "non existent" coach. I can't think of many ADs ever having been fired before they had a chance to make a major hire unless it may have been an AD who came in when there was already a great existing coach in place before the AD came on board.

If I'm an AD or assistant AD I'd be like these guys let the #2 AD from Louisville go before she even got to make a major hire and the 2 biggest scandals to hit the athletic department happened under 2 coaches she never hired. Would you walk into that if you're someone on the rise. IIRC correctly we even had the guy from Fresno who no one here was all that high on supposedly take his name out of the ring.

If and when a hire was necessary for us I was actually interested in seeing what she could come up with. Mullen was the name bandied around before so her instincts there seemed pretty good even if it didn't work out. If we get rid of her before she's had a chance to actually hire anyone I'm at a loss as to when RU will ever move up anywhere on the college landscape.

I think you're right on the money with this. One of the problems at RU is that we have a massively dysfunctional culture and keep holding up insiders as paragons of excellence. When we actually bring in outsiders to shake things up a bit and add a different perspective we tend to give them a really short leash while dumping a decade or two of problems in their laps.

Why would you want to deal with that. Throw in near constant gridlock on the roads and insane housing costs, why would any top-flight professional take a shot like Julie did (and Waters, and Barchi, and so forth).
