As always, Coach Stringer was -- to put it mildly -- cautious about where the team is now. She insists that they have a whole lot of work to do to get ready and that what we saw was nowhere near where they need to be. Nonetheless, it was great fun to see what's there already. That little KK Sanders is going to be a real Rutgers type -- small, slick and quick. She was already doing the occasional behind-the-back dribble. I got flashes of Matee. Loved watching Ariel huddled with Desiree and a whiteboard, showing her a play or something. Rachel appears to be in good shape -- trim and strong. Tyler seemed to be taking charge. Shrita looks ready to achieve her potential, and Cynthia was popping in some pretty shots from outside. Alex Alfano's foot is in a boot, and both Ariel and Briyona seemed a bit hobbled, but Coach refused to discuss who might be injured or what the issues might be -- good strategy on her part. One of the most interesting aspects of the evening was three officials on hand, not just for the mock game with the practice guys, but to explain some of the new rules. It's going to be confusing for a while, and the refs asked the crowd not to yell at them when they call things we might think were OK. Fat chance...

Sorry we were not able to attend but really looking forward to seeing this group. Should be a whole new dynamic with all the new freshmen. Hope they are all able to contribute as the season goes on.

What do you think the starting 5 will look like?

How did the shooters like and was there a "REAL" effort to spread the court for the shooters ?
