Definitely and the game was close too. OSU is arguably the biggest draw out there too.ND has a huge fan base and a huge anti fan base. So you add those two up plus a game against OSU and you get a big number.
The NIL has ruined CFB in Maryland. Did you happen to see their attendance for opening day?Am I going the kick the hornet's nest?
Can't help myself.
This is for all the angry old guys who said that NIL and open transfers had ruined CFB and they were going to watch less. Along with the Trump-told-me-to-hate-on-the-NFL folks. The right-wing cancel culture guys don't have much flex.
why bring politics into this? There is no one more detestable than a liberal with an agenda so let's keep it to just footballAm I going the kick the hornet's nest?

It is not surprising that guys like him seek any rationale they can to insist they were right all along. In this case, the TV numbers mean he was right about NIL and everyone who doesn't like NIL is wrong.. but I can see him applying this to Climate Change or any number of his "issues". That's how ridiculous it is to use the first week's games TV ratings to argue the long-term effects of NIL.why bring politics into this? We're one year into this. I believe over time it will take it's toll. But remember Seinfeld's view on sports. Fans cheer for clothes.Am I going the kick the hornet's nest?

Does this exclude the ACC network? RU - BC not listed.Link with the ratings for many games not just the big ones and the teams are explicitly listed not just the time slot and channel. I think this is the first time I've seen the BTN listed.

Not sure the ACCN gets metered. Last week was actually the first time I’ve seen the BTN with ratings.Does this exclude the ACC network? RU - BC not listed.
They cheer for clothes but also Individual stars. Not sure how anyone can deny that. Some stars put people in seats, bring in TV viewers and sell jerseys a lot more than others. I'd be very surprised if Tampa Bay didn't get higher ratings locally and sell more seats when Brady went over there. We're one year into this. I believe over time it will take it's toll. looks like you brought politics in it as well 🤬why bring politics into this? There is no one more detestable than a liberal with an agenda so let's keep it to just football
But this thread is about TV ratings , shouldn't be useds to further one's political agenda. It is not surprising that guys like him seek any rationale they can to insist they were right all along. Yup that’s where I get them from and post it here. I think this is the first year I’ve seen BTN ratings measured, at least for public releaseThanks for posting these. For anyone interested, Sports Media Watch maintains TV ratings by game/week/year. Here's a link to the 2021 ratings. BTN is included.

Surprised by Washington State/Wisconsin being so high, but overall the B1G numbers are strong. Also, nice numbers for USC/Stanford. I did not realize that they had played.
Being on a broadcast network definitely makes a difference for the WSU/Wisconsin game.Surprised by Washington State/Wisconsin being so high, but overall the B1G numbers are strong. Also, nice numbers for USC/Stanford. I did not realize that they had played.
that was a hell of a lead in, seeing how the Bama-Texas game was a must see and how it was a game, because of the play, you couldn't turn off till it was over.Being on a broadcast network definitely makes a difference for the WSU/Wisconsin game.
Read an article awhile back on how much of a diff it can make between ABC vs “big ESPN” and then “big ESPN” vs “little ESPN”…all widely didtubuted networks but there’s still a stark difference.
Plus the WSU/Wisconsin game had the close Alabama/Texas game as a lead in which helped and the WSU/Wisconsin game was close too.
just remember there are WAY LESS people watching cable TV now that there were 3 years ago, as far as cable goes. So that is very impressive and why the Big Ten is getting so much more money.
TV views may be up because the average guy has less money in his pocket to drop on the in-person experience. Probably will cost you $400 to take a family of 4Am I going the kick the hornet's nest?
