Java is a legacy language. There are so many new languages popping up that it is hard to keep up anymore.

Exactly. Especially with the Oracle monopoly on it. Right now google is looking into switching from Java to Swift for Android development.

Yep, when Oracle got their hands on it I knew that would be detrimental. Kind of like when Sybase bought PowerBuilder.
