OT: An Ignorant Betting Question

I have never placed a bet before and tried to do so on Saturday's game vs. VT. I made a required $25 deposit on FanDuel. When I looked they did not have the game listed. The agent I chatted with said that because I lived in NJ, I couldn't bet on any NJ college teams. Is this true? Is there another site I can go to? Thanks.

You cannot bet non professional in state sports in NJ. You can go to NY or PA and bet RU tho!
